I would give no stars if I could! I went here because I noticed my bird was not acting right. They were the closest clinic that treated birds. They could see she was not well and they still refused to look at her. She later passed away that same day. If you need a vet I don’t recommend them. They are not helpful and told me they could see my bird on Thursday at the earliest. That was four days away.

I transferred from another regular vet to this exotic vet. Though my previous vet could treat bunnies, they weren't knowledgeable about handling and opted for the lowest dose for any medication care. My first impression with this vet, Dr. Harrenstein, was a vet whom was extremely knowledgeable about exotics animals. You can tell she spends extra time reading the most current research on exotic animals from multiple references of published papers. She actively listens to concerns and creates a unique rapport with clients. For example she listened to my concern about external ear drop (from a previous vet prescription), informed me that she didn't like putting liquid into animal's ears, and then referenced a paper for why she has this view. The offices are very prompt and clean when arriving. They notify you upon arrival if there is an extended delay from other appointments. They offer free coffee, tea, and water while you wait in the room. You can hear the number of people calling in trying to get an appointment, which shows such a large need for this practice to expand their practice with another vet. While the prices are more expensive, it is a reflection of the specialized exotic animal care. I would recommend asking about how to obtain pet insurance to help out with costs at your first appointment here. Absolutely come here for a visit to setup your animal as a client, it will make getting urgent treatment and prompt appointment for them much easier.

As a new owner of Sugar Gliders, I am very happy and impressed with the care given to both of our little critters! They might be little but won our hearts quickly, so getting quality care was important to me. Both of our babies have had problems, and both times I felt totally confident and happy with the care received! I would recommend this clinic to anyone with an exotic pet!

They're now open 7 days a week! This is extremely convenient for those who have that unexpected emergency. Good staff , your kind and courteous of your special needs.

Two visits so far, and both exemplary. Our first visit was for a checkup for our new bearded dragon. Dr. Harrenstein we knew from working at the Zoo, so we were extremely happy to have her years of expertise for our little guy. She gave us great recommendations and was a great help to his health. Second visit was when our we had an emergency with our beardie. A quick call on the phone, the front desk encouraged us to come in and they would fit us in since it was an emergency. We rushed over, Dr. Gibbons quickly determined what needed to be done, and our little guy is back to normal with no issues whatsoever. All of the staff here are always very kind and helpful. During our emergency trip, vet staff kept checking in on us since we were there for a few hours, asking if we needed anything, encouraging us to go get food if needed and that they'd keep us updated, etc. The rooms are always very clean, we've had to wait a few extra minutes for a room while they clean it down between guests which in my opinion is perfectly acceptable for knowing your pet will be getting a nice clean space for their checkup. Vet assistants knew just the right way to hold our beardie when he was squirming because he didn't want his mouth checked, and they helped set us up with so much information that we now feel much more confident in our care for our guy. Highly, highly recommend this place to anyone with exotic pets. Some places may be cheaper for a checkup, but I doubt you'll get the same level of expertise and care.
