Absolutely worst customer service experience I've ever had. Ever. 

Despite the other bad reviews, I gave this rental agency a chance because my uncle gave it a good review. I don't know if it is because he is a man and I'm a 25 yr old woman, but I have never been treated so condescendingly. 

First of all, good luck getting them to answer their phones. Even if it's dead in there, they are too busy talking on their personal phone to deal with the business line. 

Secondly, the car they gave me would not go into park. Kind of a big deal. After calling and calling, they finally answered as I was pulling into the parking lot. The woman acted like I was crazy and didn't know how to put a car into park.

Third, their receptionist must also work as the mechanic. She came out (fortunately for her, the sweatshirt with spray painted deer heads she was wearing in the office, was also warm enough for her to wear outside) and started working on the car by moving the shifter back and forth and trying to force it into park. She continued doing this for 5 min until it finally went into park. And she said "OK! You're good to go."  I told her no, I would need another vehicle. She informed me that they did not have any. 

They sent me to their other location, in Dayton, to get another car. I did not have time for this, I had to close my business down so I could deal with it. And this woman couldn't believe I was up there to switch it out, and rudely said "Well the car is in park now, isn't it?". 

Anyway, they gave me a 2011 Lancer, as is. It was rough riding and after the turn signal stuck, I took it back to the Dayton Mall location and got my car and money back.

 Never again will I rent from these people. I went to enterprise and had excellent customer service, their Chevy Cruise wasn't ready so they gave me a free upgrade and 10% off discount because I had such a terrible experience trying to rent a car from their competitor.

I needed to pick a car at this location. I was worried based on previous reviews. However, my experience was totally opposite of what people mentioned here. First, I reserved a minivan. However, they did not have a minivan. So Pam called me previous day to tell me that the choice is big SUV. She even let me come and check out. On the day of rental, she got a minivan for me. Overall, great experience for me. I would go back to this site rather than going to Airport, which I used to do previously.

I rent from this Avis location anytime I need a car. They're always friendly and extremely helpful.

If I could rate this lower, I would. Customer service is dead at this place. Reserved a car for pickup at noon today. Had a delay so I tried to call at 12:05 and push the pickup time out. Local number never picked up so it went to the national number. After spending around 5 minutes answering questions about my reservation, I was told to wait while they connected me to a human being... and then hung up on me. So I call the local number again and get put on hold for another 5 minutes. When I finally speak to someone I ask if I can move the pickup time out a little. He tells me they're closing in 10 minutes at 12:30. I tell him I can probably make it if I drop everything and go. I do that and get there at 12:31. But they've already locked the front door and proceed to ignore me.
I understand it's their corporate policy to close at 12:30 but when I told them I was leaving right then and could probably make it in time... and then I actually do show up one minute after their closing time, they could at least acknowledge me. They could have told me not to bother because if I was even 1 minute late, they wouldn't be able to let me in. Instead, they decided to jerk me around like their phone system did. You can guarantee that I will never rent from Avis or Budget (they've apparently combined to somehow offer even less customer service) any time in the future. And I'll be letting everyone I know what a horrible experience I've had with all aspects of this transaction.

arrived at Avis was greeted with a smile,  I had made reservations, they had my paperwork ready.  The car was clean enough,  there was cat hair on the back seat, but I put everything in the trunk so it didn't matter to me.
I've have nothing but positive comments with Avis at the Centerville location
