Barta has to be one of the worst public transport services ive ever had to use. Not only are the buses habitually behind schedule but their drivers are outrageously rude. The bus stops are different depending on what driver is driving the bus. Is there no training involved? The scheduling between bus transfers is ridiculous. 90% of the time the bus youre on will arrive at the station just in time for you to see the bus you need leave the station. Also in a city as large as Reading where the vast majority of jobs are factories and warehouses that operate 24/7...why are there no 24 hour routes?

I love the fact if you don't have a vehicle you have the buses to rely on. The terminal is pretty neat considering all kinds of people come here.

The station itself is crowded with junkies people asking for money ALL the time. Buses are clean and get you where you need to go. However Some drivers are reckless and people sometimes hog up more seats then they pay for with bags. Website is slow but does give you information. Girl in front desk is rude Chews gum like a horse but i can buy my monthly pass with her. Buses run late but they cant help it theres traffic and people that don't have their money out or when people need to close their strollers or need help with their wheelchairs.

I'm reporting the reckless behavior of a BARTA driver who could have caused an accident today. This happened at 6:04 pm on 10/4/17, at the intersection of Mifflin Boulevard and Philadelphia Avenue near Governor Mifflin High School. The bus was leaving Shillington heading for the Kenhorst area. I was in front of the bus (underlined) on single-lane Mifflin Boulevard. I had my left signal on for at least a hundred feet in advance. I braked at the stop sign at this intersection. Ignoring my signal, the BARTA driver took advantage of the extra side space on the road and drove up on the left side of my car, blocking me from making the turn. The driver was trying to turn left as well. He/she then edged the bus forward into the lane of oncoming rush hour traffic and blocked the road to push through. Not feeling safe at all around this driver, I decided to change my signal to go right. I couldn't turn because the bus had blocked my view. As soon as the driver turned left, I went right. If I hadn't decided to go the opposite way, we both would have turned left, side by side on a single lane road. There would have been a collision. It would have been the BARTA driver's fault for trying to cut in front of my car when he/she was originally behind me. Not only was the BARTA driver causing danger to me, he/she was endangering other drivers in oncoming traffic by moving forward into their lane from a stop sign. I've never seen this kind of behavior from any BARTA driver until today. This driver was either belligerent or totally oblivious -- a dangerous presence on the road either way. I hope BARTA will address this issue, and will be able to identify the driver involved based on the time, location, and route. I hope they will bring this matter to the driver's attention. Nobody should drive like what I saw today, especially when it's that person's job. Please pay more attention!
