You start out on what they call the extra board which is tough because you are ALWAYS on call. They literally called me at 4 am to tell me i had to be in at 530 on my day off and called me nonstop on the weekends. They do not like you if you are not willing to work 14 hour days. They do not tell you that you are responsible for finding your way from the garage to the terminal and back everyday and if you have to take a bus they do not pay you for the time. So if you have to wait around for the bus for an hour because your route ends downtown but your car is at the garage they consider that your problem and do not compensate you for the that time. Although the own the parking garage next to terminal they make you wait on a wait list to park there and it is 65 a month. They say they have company cars but they only have 3 and 1 is for management only. It adds up to several hours a week and is very frustrating. Also since you only get paid while driving you do not get compensated for anytime you spend meeting with management or anything else work related. The work life balance is horrible. My wife went into labor and they would not let me go be there for the birth of my first child all they said is they have a business to run. The woman who trained us did not keep private information confidential. During our training she would tell us about the other drivers accidents and personal information. She told us about a dispatcher having an affair and about drivers who had bad records. The Operation manager was nice during our interview but once we got through our training he came in and was very blunt and rude to us. Also this job does have a union which sounds great, except the union president is close friends with Kilmer and the union honestly doesnt do much for the drivers all they do is negotiate. The union officers are looking out for themselves.

I feel they definitely need more lighting around designated bus pick-up areas... Also the drivers need to stop creating their own detours...

This Transit "Authority" is not a real authority its just the name. They have no enforcement ability like real transit authorities. They are also stuck in the 1990s. They are not even on google maps as anything. When you hit the public transit icon for Lancaster it suggests uber. So anybody coming to Lancaster and wants to go anywhere they are directed to either walk, drive, or take uber. I have tried addressing this with David The IT guy for rrta, his suggestion was to look up public transit go to the rrta website and download the pdf containing the guide. Are you kidding me? This guy is paid actual money? Just about every tourist out there uses Google maps to find their way around new places, if its not in google maps it doesn't exist. I have been riding rrta for 18 months out of necessity and by far the majority if riders are elderly=free, disabled=half fare, students=free?,and low income. Most other regulars buy monthly passes. I have seen very few tourists=full fare paying riders. How difficult is it to contact Google maps (not very, I called them and asked what it would take to get listed with them. They told me they have been trying to contact David at rrta for a while with no results. Looks like David is not doing his job). Next lets talk about their schedule of rates, again, are you kidding me? San Diego is 30 times bigger than Lancaster and they only have a couple of rates $5 for an all day pass for everything. Simplify the rates and save money on accounting and 10 different cards. OKAy its getting too long, bye

Service is terrible. Drivers a re rude. Half the time I pay as I get off other half when I get on..up to driver an I am supposed to know this. An apparently during rush hour (travel time for many) people stop being disabled so their disability disclunt does not exiat. I cannot buy a monthly pass for half price cauae of greed.
