Visited the dealership this morning to look at purchasing a 4Runner. Worked with Terry Martin and he was a pleasure to work with- very kind, considerate and not too pushy which we appreciated. When he brought the manager over, we experienced the polar opposite. He was very rude (especially to Terry), didn't listen well and was a typical "car salesman" which was very off-putting. We haven't decided on where to purchase our car yet but if we pick this dealership it will be because of the service we got from Terry and we will hope a different manager is working!

I've been terribly disappointed with this dealership. Since I do a lot of research on my vehicle and have a regular mechanic help me with maintenance, I'm real familiar with how my Highlander is supposed to run and/or sound like. Whenever the job's been what I considered to be too major to trust with my mechanic, I've taken it to another dealership who was generally right on the money with what was wrong. In addition, this other dealership gives me a printout of what needs to be repaired, or is running just fine, as well as regular coupons for parts or service. Since moving onto the north side, I decided to give Bell Road Toyota a try. Initially, I was happy when they agreed to honor the other Dealership's Repair Costs, as I needed a major repair. They even threw in a rental car for me. I was assured that I would be put on their "coupon" list as well. Never happened. I also noticed that their parts department is much higher than the other dealership. The second time I brought my vehicle in, complaining of a whining noise, I wanted a second opinion on the repair that the first Dealership had written in the Repair Book they'd given me. No second opinion on the part mentioned was given. Instead, I was told that a motor mount needed to be replaced. I was disgusted that the noise I complained of, had nothing to do with this. Hence the noise remains. They were kind enough to change my oil and filter, and deduct the cost of oil since I'd brought my own. However, I ended up leaving with a far more expensive bill than I had anticipated as well as the original problem remained. This coupled with my rental fees killed whatever Christmas travel/gifts I had planned. Before I left, I told the salesman that my van's problem remained. He told me to bring it back another day and perhaps I could speak with the mechanic. Like, I don't have the time or the money to keep chasing a repair. When I looked up my problem on the internet, it clearly stated where a licensed mechanic should begin to look. When I bring my van to a Dealer's, yes I know the cost will be high as they include overhead. However, I also expect them to get it right the first time. I expressed this clearly to the Salesman and told him that I'm a professional tradesman. We get paid to do it right the first time and leave no traces of our presence. I haven't taken my van back, as I feel because of its age, perhaps this is why I received less than standard service.

The service department is pretty much as expected for a dealership. They are helpful, but when I bring my car in for a recall, there's always a new loose cover of some sort. An engine recall, and now my radiator cover is missing all the clips. A steering column recall and now the cover is always lose. They inspected the car for a suspension recall and the inside wheel well was loose. 3/3. So weird.

On December 8, 2016 I purchased a 2017 Toyota Highlander from Bell Road Toyota, for which I am satisfied of the purchase experience. However, I believe it is customary for a dealership to do a follow-up after the purchase for any comments or complaints. So far no call or letter to thank me for the business or any coupons for accessories or service. I am disappointed that Bell Road Toyota does not care about their customer after the sale. Got a follow-up call from Gino, who is a great guy, guaranteeing great customer service. Gino stated that I can call him any time with questions or concerns. Therefore, I have revised my rating to 5 stars.

I've left many messages for Gilbert Ortiz to call me back. I have also emailed him. Mr. Ortiz told me he would help to resolve a situation and I have not heard a peep out of him. I would like to update my review. 1-12-2017- Mr. Ortiz went above and beyond to help resolve my issues with Bell Road Toyota. Thank you Mr. Ortiz. Bell Road Toyota marks up their parts well over 100%. Again, thank you Mr. Ortiz, you get 5 stars, shame on the dealership for ripping people off, when it comes to parts. I would not even give the dealership one star when it comes to mark up on parts and labor. Mr. Ortiz was amazing and worked hard to get my issues resolved. Thank you!
