Amazing food. Went right at five on a weekend and had no wait with no reservation. Pasta is made fresh everyday and you can tell in how good it is. We had our food within 10 minutes of sitting down (after taking at least 5 minutes to look at the menu). Will definitely go to again. Highly recommended.

100% YES! This restaurant! It was great the cocktails the in house made pasta! You can't beat the flavor of pasta made in the restaurant possibly that morning ,the proof is in the taste! Also had a custard dessert perfect amount of sweetness !I enjoyed the whole experience

By far the best pasta in San Diego! I've been searching for a place that compared to NY restaurants for the past two years. Gnocchi is delicious! I appreciated their transparency regarding ingredients... and HOUSE MADE pasta that is actually house made! Perfectly al dente

Delicious, fresh house made pasta.  We had just returned from a vacation in Italy and were searching for local food that compared, and we found more than a match at Bencotto.  Expect us to return frequently for our amazing Italian food fix!

Cute place with pretty attentive service. The bread guy was especially great. I ordered a white wine and the squid ink pasta with shrimp. I think it was not as flavorful as it could have been, maybe it could have used a bit of salt. We also had the calamari appetizer, which was lightly breaded and cooked well.  The free bread was great with the olive oil and vinegar. We are from out of town, but if we weren’t, i might come back again to try one of their build-your-own pasta dishes with homemade pasta. I would not reorder the squid ink pasta dish.
