They have an amazing produce section which is almost 1/3 of the store. Great selections of natural and exotic or hard to find food options. Great for organic options, fresh meat. And a great deli/hot food area. I love the bins where I can measure my nuts and berries. Good place but th parking needs work. The parking lot is ALWAYS full. And you sometimes have to pay for your own parking. The only bad thing

One of my favorite places to shop for groceries. Fresh and reasonably priced, the best variety of fresh produce at good competitive prices. Nice variety of prepared food, and deli selections. Friendly courteous personnel and customers. Parking is difficult.

One of my favorite grocery stores anywhere.  Fresh local and varied produce at reasonable prices.  And plenty of other interesting food/home items of high quality.  Good bulk food section too.  Parking can be limited and tricky when it's busy but it's worth the effort.

I love this grocery store and I literally plan my week around being able to commute to Berkeley so I can go shopping here. It's like a Farmers market, Asian grocery, and sprouts combined, with a meat counter and wine & cheese counter to rival whole foods. Seriously. It's the best. I haven't even mentioned the bulk food section with their bulk noodles and spices and teas and dried fruits and granolas....

With two Berkeley locations, it is by far the best market in the San Francisco East Bay area for a huge variety of foods, particularly reasonably priced farm fresh organic,  fruit and vegetables as well as bin choices. Staff are very helpful and knowledgeable. Owned for decades by a Japanese American family, the store features many hard to find ethnic foods from all over the world, and great fresh seafood and cheeses as well as meats. It serves a variety of homemade cooked foods at student prices and in student size quantity and has an eating area. Parking is a challenge. This location is near the center of Berkeley, close to the Ashby BART Station.
