An awesome gym the staff was really helpful and friendly, Tim was able to get me a great deal he was very professional and accommodating. The workout equipment was all new and well maintained. I did not take part in the classes but it did look like they had something for everyone. I really recommend this gym!!

Had a business trip and was looking for a gym to workout at while in Albany, NY. Found Best Fitness on Central Ave. Great spot to workout at, great staff, lots of cardio machines to select from, and a lower level with nothing but free weights. They have a legitimate Group-X workout area with monitoring system. Truly one of the best gyms I have visited throughout the U.S. with an excellent selection workout equipment. I highly recommend it.

It's a pretty solid gym, best of both worlds between a strength training gym and a planet fitness type of gym. A lot of the cardio and light weight stuff is upstairs, and the heavier stuff is downstairs. Personally, I went for the $10/month no frills option, so I can't really speak about it other than strictly as a gym - and in that regard it's very solid. Lots of equipment, gets packed at certain times (right after 5) but if you can avoid that you won't have to weight (ha, get it? I'm corny, I know.) for anything except possibly for one person on a squat rack or the bench. Equipment and such has pretty good upkeep by the staff, far better than some gyms I've been to, but not as good as others. You can wipe down stuff before and after you use it though, which you should if you're not a jerk. Fair warning: you do have to sign a 1 year contract at minimum, and you can't get out of it without a doctor's note or proof that you're moving. There's also a once a year "maintenance fee" that I believe is $60/year they charge you after your first month - this is my only real gripe, since I don't really think it's justified, maybe if you didn't have to sign the contract as well it wouldn't bother me as much, I don't know for sure. Changes the price from $10/month to $15/ month in actuality. Also, like all gyms, be wary of personal trainers, some are good some are awful, always do your own research with regard to exercises, especially if you want to lift heavy.

The negative reviews for this gym are simply hysterical. My partner is a HUGE gym buff and I'm an on&off regular. Best fitness is great. They have all the equipment I could need, and then some. The trainers are as varied as any other gym, the community being equally varied. Don't take the other reviews of people complaining about customer service to heart. I once switched my cards without telling them and ended up with $300 in fees, and when I calmly called and asked for help, ALL of those fees were eradicated and I was given the month free.

Rachel at the front desk is awesome and the gym itself has everything you could ever want if you are serious about getting in shape and staying that way. The Westgate location and Fuller are both updated and kept like new. They have plenty of room for cardio but more importantly have all the free weights and machines you could ask for plus more. This is a real gym unlike planet fitness.
