My Mills College Reunion was the primary reason for our stay this time. The Bayside & adjoining property, The Executive Inn offer a discount for Reunion attendees. However, the service and location is so great, that we will stay there anytime we have activities in Oakland. The service is outstanding, including on demand shuttle service to the Airport, BART or Jack London Square. Every employee I dealt with was outstanding, including and especially the front desk staff. Our room was very nice & included refrigerator, microwave & safe. We chose a water view, which was truly therapeutic.

Nearly everything about this hotel is exactly what you would expect of a best western... and then a little bit better than that. Except, of course, for breakfast. It would be great if there were better offerings beside cereal, toast, muffins, scones, waffles and half a dozen other wheat based foodstuffs. There is usually an egg dish and some sketchy looking meat, but it's pretty lacking for how great the rest of the hotel is. Even the staff are very friendly!

Don't let the 5 starts fool you, this isn't a "real" 5 star resort. What it is, however, is a gem of a hotel in the middle of an area you wouldn't expect something so nice to be. The hotel had good amenities for the price, the staff was very nice, and very helpful. Rooms were large and nicely appointed for the price too. I was really taken aback to discover we had a sliding glass door opening to a patio that led to a paved walkway that paralleled the bay! I was stunned! All for under $200 a night!

Beautiful room, neighborhood is industrial and kind of scary. We didn't have any problems, it just appears rather sketchy. Parking is free but there is not an over abundance of spaces. Really enjoyed the room & view. The free breakfast was pretty good too, nice selection.

One of the nicest hotel experiences I've had. Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was spacious, tastefully decorated and very clean. Loved our view of the bay from the balcony. We liked that the toilet had its own little room. We were sorry we were only staying one night. Price was also reasonable for the Bay area.
