This is my fourth-stay at this property.  The prior trip, we had 9-adults and 1-infant in our party, spread over 5-rooms.  We had a fantastic experience - both in the rooms (which were all roomy and nice); the pool facilities; and, the restaurant (breakfast, lunch, and dinner).  

This trip, my wife and I returned for a short visit.  This experience was consistent with prior stays...very relaxing and enjoyable.  The staff is always friendly, courteous, and helpful.  The property is always clean and well-maintained; San Diego Bay is an excellent location to walk at night and enjoy the view of downtown.

The reception and dining staffs were excellent and friendly.  The Property was fully occupied; but, everything ran smoothly for our party.

All members of our party were impressed with the location and the facilities.  Great job and group experience...thank you!

I gave this hotel full stars because of two things, their concern for satisfaction and the variety of rooms. Both check-in and check-out experiences were pleasant and professionally done. 

The rooms are variant. They range from standard to a studio type with full kitchens. The views are from none to getting lost in the presentation of yachts to the other side of endless water of the bay and it's horizon. 

For the rate we had our stay was every bit as pleasant and worth a downtown high rise. But, the choice is yours to spend a lot or a medium amount. Regardless, San Diego has so much to offer that just staying in a room would be a shame.

The Island Palms is centrally located to see just about anything you want of the area, being minutes to go and get to the museums, parks, etc.

Love this hotel! Been coming here off and on for 10 years...views are wonderful, my favorite is of the marina, there is a lovely walkway along the marina, the restaurant is wonderful and so is the pool area! Staff has always been very pleasant and helpful as well.
 Beautiful view on the front side of the hotel of the bay and downtown San Diego.   Great place to take a walk and there are some great restaurants on Shelter Island within walking distance. Overall, a great getaway !

Stay here! You won't regret it. The property is in the perfect location on Shelter Island. There's nothing that's more than 20 minutes away, from downtown to Sunset Cliffs.

Beyond that the rooms are gorgeous, the pools (yes, plural!) are amazing, and the service is spectacular. Make sure to make a stop at the bar/restaurant for a drink and the view of the marina.

A nice property on the bay. Priced higher than I would have liked, but the high hotel tax is part of the problem. I wasn't advised there was a parking fee until I checked out, but they didn't charge me the $10. Also would have liked to know about express checkout. I found the room quiet, no problems with noisy pipes or loud Air Conditioning. I was only there long enough to jump in the pool/spa briefly and sleep, so I didn't even explore the hotel or eat there. I was there overnight for a wedding. Check in was supposed to be after 4, but they let me check in early (before the wedding at 4), which made me happy. 4:00 is a very late check in time.
