My first experience was in mid Aug 2016 when I purchased a foldup bike from Amazon. I had paid Amazon for a contractor of there's to put my bike together when it arrived. Ended up getting reimbursed since I didn't want to wait a week to ride my bike. In comes Bicycle Renaissance. Chris (great guy$ picked up my bike in box for no charge and then only charged me $75 which was less expensive than Amazon. My bike was ready promptly and I knew when I left that Bicycle Renaissance was going to remain my go to place for all my bike needs. Thank you Chris, Gus and the whole Bicycle Renaissance team for making it such a pleasure to know you.

I bought my bike there 4 years ago, specialized cycle cross. I brought the bike in for a tune up, which is part of the deal, like I do every year, but I didn't want to change the chain and casset at the moment, only the breaks. Once I picked up the bike it looked like no tune up was done, not even the basic frame clean, only breaks were changed, very disappointing service.

I've had some good experiences with this shop but most recently I ordered a fork from them and they gave me a 26 inch instead of a 700cc witch I clearly asked for. Because I run disc brakes they said it would work, witch it almost does (the clearance is a lot tighter then I would like and the frame is designed for the 700cc fork so the geometry will be changed). Unfortunately I don't have time to wait for another fork before my trip so this one will have to do. Next time I need I bike shop I will be going to Toga Bikes, I have found their mechanics much more knowledgeable.

BICYCLE RENAISSANCE, this bike shop has a lot of negativity in its vibe. Elitist, pretentious snobbery at its highest level. The moment you walk in, you feel it. They size-you-up to predict and ask themselves, "hmm, how much money is this person going to spend?" You should expect horrible, impersonal, careless service. I came in looking to purchase $20-$30 worth of goods, little did I know that the lady next to me was browsing bikes worth $800-$1500 — she was given preferential treatment and I was ignored for several minutes since I wasn't looking to shell top dollar. The employee, with a grim frown, finally acknowledged me and I was given permission to finally make my purchase; he flopped my items on the glass counter and pecked at the cash register, snatching the cash from my hand and rudely flinging the change back. What rude service! As I walked out I did not expect a goodbye or thank you... and I did not receive one. If you are on the UWS, steer clear of this joke of a shop!
