Dropped my bike off on one of the busiest days of the year for a simple job. Forgot something and came back about twenty minutes later and to my surprise they had completed it much earlier than they had estimated.

I'm writing about my experience today buying a fixie. Yes, I bought a fixie. I work in finance and am going to business school in the fall. Screw stereotypes.

I walked in knowing I wanted a fixie and had a budget in mind. Enter Mike. Affable and knowledgeable, he made me feel comfortable immediately. To be honest, when I walked in, I was "browsing." In fact, I had never even considered purchasing any of the fixies they had in stock (for the record, they have Bianchi, Fuji, Pure Fix, SE and the Jamis Sputnik - I'm sure I'm missing something). However, the shop is a stone's throw from my apartment so I said, "self, why not?"

Mike listened to what I was after, took a look at me, and matched me up with my fixed gear soulmate: a Fuji track bike. I loved it immediately. Unwilling to have me go for the first thing I saw, I test rode some other stuff. Nope. I wanted the Fuji.

However, I wanted a different handlebar configuration, a rear brake, fenders, seat security and an overall locking mechanism. No problem. All taken care of (they were able to modify the bike in the store in short order and I rode her hope a couple short hours later).

In short, I left under budget and fully specked out. Very happy with my buying experience here. I would definitely go back.

Excellent customer service! Imbert went above and beyond to find a replacement bike part for me. Far more than I can say for the Brooklyn bike shop where I purchased the bike. Thank you, Imbert! I now have a new LBS!
