Al's is a family owned and operated bicycle store in Hell's Kitchen NYC. We cater to all levels of cyclists and carry bikes of every price point. From road to hybrid to mountain (and even kids). There is a big dog that actually sleeps in the middle of the floor unleashed. The owner made it very clear that the dog was dangerous. Take caution when bringing small children or your pet to this store. Walked in and the dog started walking right towards me. The owner was yelling frantically for me to get out before the dog did something aggressive! Jesus... Horrible first time experience. I walked into this place ready to buy a bike. Felt like I walked into someone's house..... This guy lost a sale and tarnished his reputation in my eyes because he makes his store more comfortable for himself then he does for his customers. First impression: Unprofessional and a potentially dangerous environment. Maybe I'm wrong but definitely never going back. There are such better places.

After checking a few store in NYC I realized how AL has great prices. He was warm, funny and very blunt about what is for me and what is a waste of money. Not trying to make a quick sale, rather make sure a relationship is made. I ordered a bianchi oltre into the store which was 300 usd cheaper here than any other place I could find. Fitted perfectly. Don’t give this place a pass!

Awesome service on my Dahon folder today. Brought my bike in at 12:45 and was out the door and on my way home with new brakes, a freshly lubed chain, a tightened center hinge, and a new bell...which they quickly installed. Price was great, service was fast, and I couldn't be happier. I feel completely safe on my bike again! I'll be back.
