Pretty great place to hang out! However, If you're not into crowds, this isn't the place for you.  This beach does have real sand, which is awesome, but be aware that this is still the desert and it gets crazy hot.  A main downfall with this in mind is that the parking lot is a long ways away from the actual water so you might have to carry your dog to get to it... unless you like animal control called on you.  There are a lot of picnic areas set up all over the park.  If you want to get a picnic area or even a spot on the water for that matter, get there early. All in all it's a good time.

Busy, get there early on weekends. Pretty nice facilities, though the people visiting can be rude and thoughtless.  No wake zones, means no wakes, no gas, just idle out. No not everyone wants to hear your music, just like you don't want to hear mine. Be considerate.  The park rangers worked to get everyone parked on an extremely busy and hot weekend. And they were nice.

Been coming here for the last 10 years and really appreciate the easy access to beachside picnic spots and boat ramps. I have always found the facilities to be maintained well and clean.

If staying at the camp ground you will find it to be spacious,clean and full hook up. It is some distance from the river but the privacy it affords is worth it. The river front is beautiful with Sandy beaches and an abundance of wildlife. The rangers are knowledgeable and friendly. A very nice place to spend the day.
