Great place to visit or camp. Each camping spot is somewhat separated by trees and brush with plenty of room. The shower facilities are well placed and clean. There is a small "general" store with camping supplies and they will even deliver to your site. There is a good truck near the bay area with low cost nabs. This is also where you rent kayaks and canoes. The park is also within few minutes drive of several public beach locations.

Good place to stay. Nice and helpful staff. I loved how courteus they were. Very quiet and nice campers too. Very clean restrooms. Just three things: racoons will steal your food and try to go when its a bit colder as the mosquitoes will bite you everywhere. Also, the site description says it is gravel. Actually it is just dirt and when it rains it turns into nasty mud Other than that its a good place. May be back but will choose very specific sites to camp.

Second time coming here with my family. We really enjoyed ourselves. We tent camped for 5 nights. Restrooms were clean every time we used them. Not a big fan of our friendly neighbors, the raccoons, but what can you do. Other than that we had a great visit.

Very nice park to takes your dogs for a walk in. Pensacola doesn't have much to offer as far as nature goes, so this is a good place to get away from the crowds. Perks: well manicured with beaches, trails, and a great selection of wildlife. We've seen deer, skunk, an alligator, and about every species of bird! Some drawbacks: the staff is very strict about dogs being on a leash, even if you're the only person in the park. There are also only two trails, and one is flooded during the wintertime. The trails also don't get very far from the highway, but it is to be expected for such a small park. If you have a Florida State Park pass, you can get into the park after hours to watch some great sunsets from the tower though!

We actually had no idea where we were going to stay when we headed down to Florida, but someone suggested Big Lagoon State Park. The staff is so friendly, especially Tammy. They all work really hard to accommodate guests and all of the people who stay here are also incredibly nice. I can't count the number of interesting people we met here. The campsites could accommodate RV's and there were showers and bathrooms within walking distance of all the campsites. Wildlife is everywhere; we were initially skeptical about how much wildlife we would see but it was unbelievable! During our first walk, we saw a baby crocodile. When you go, you should definitely visit the lagoon and the observation tower. Wildlife is abundant there. The birds were probably my favorite. You should definitely try to reserve your spot in advance though! The campsites fill up quickly, but if you can't make it in the campsites that definitely shouldn't stop you from visiting during the day. This place is a paradise!
