The staff is awesome. They shared several creatures with the children and the children loved it. They were also very congenial and excited about doing their job. Even more than that, they were excited about nature and life and were able to share that excitement with my little ones. All in all, it is a very nice place to visit with little ones (or even without if one so preferred).

Great park to visit. Large and very easy to find a quiet section to relax or take walk. Paddle board, kayak and small boat rentals are available here for very reasonable prices.

Love this lake. It's local to me and is the best I know of in the area. It's relatively large compared to lakes like Lake Needwood and far far cleaner. The only downside to this lake is that you aren't allowed to jump in and swim around-- it's a drinking water reservoir. Though I think that also keeps some of the traffic down which is nice -- it's not like Ocean City where you fight for your three feet of space next to a bunch of crying or poorly behaved children. You can actually enjoy the outdoors here 99% of the time.

My daughter had a week of kayaking camp and loved it. Each day they had a safety lecture or other talk first and then drove to a kayaking location. It was very safe. One counselor in front, another in the back and everyone was supplied life jackets. Would send her again.
