Nice trails through the woods and some are paved too. Picnic tables, large childrens play areas, a lake you can go boating on, and a visits center with helpful friendly staff. Our son found a snapping turtle near our home, we kept it throughout the Summer, then called Black Hill when Autumn came. They said to bring it over. We met a Park Ranger who took us out on a free boat ride and released it in a remote area of the lake. How cool is that!?!

It has one of the most beautiful sunsets in the area. If you are up for some photo shoots just head for it. The park is clean and quiet and beautiful with not so many bugs and mosquitoes. Felt like they were friendly and never bite us, something unlikely. They have a good parking lot for vehicles too. You can sit or do picnic or even rent a boat to enjoy an evening.

great for a picnic lunch, we were heading home from a camping trip and brought a small cooler and a blanket and sat under a shaded tree by the water. they even allow charcoal grills, we saw other families with fold up tables, grills, and tent shades. I saw many benches but didn't see any picnic tables (other than the ones in the pavilions). they also have many boat rentals including kayaks, pedal boats, and pontoon rides. only one adult over 16 is allowed on a pedal boat at a time.

Exploring this park was refreshing. It's a really nice and well kept trail. I thought it would make a loop but I had to turn around unexpectedly making me late for duty. But it was worth the extra work out run.

The trophy fish in this lake are big. Avoid the crowds. Parents will let their kids throw rocks when they clearly see you fishing. Bring your own boat. The boat rental process is time consuming and the row boats don't work very well.
