My husband and I just got back from Blackwoods Campground last night, we were there for three nights. Yes, it is illegal to bring wood from out of state and you do have to purchase it but the long drive through Maine has plenty of stops to pick up wood. Yes, you do have to pay for showers. And yes you do have to pay the $25 Acadia National Park pass per vehicle. But this Campground is absolutely gorgeous we were there at the peak fall leaf color changing. The bathrooms are super clean and we never had any issues. We did notice several campsites during this time of year visitors only stay about a night or two, with Ryan and I staying 3 nights we got to see several different neighbors but for the most part we had our privacy. We absolutely loved that there was a trail off of loop A that connected to Acadia National Park trails and used that often. The campgrounds private lookout over the cliffs to the Atlantic Ocean offered a stunning sunrise!! We were so happy and thankful the park rep suggested it to us. Thank you for an amazing anniversary trip we will highly recommend you and look forward to seeing you again

Steps away from the beautiful coast of Maine with a view that is stunning! If you can handle no electricity, and occasional pay-for-showers, then this is the place to explore Eastern Acadia! We stayed a week and loved every single day. The campground is quiet (we stayed on A loop), clean, and you can't beat the location. We will return!

Best campground I ever stayed at! Each lot is far enough away from your neighbors, secluded in the pine trees and has a fire pit with a built in stand. Can fit two tents comfortably. Bathrooms are very clean and fairly close to most sites but there are no showers, so we showered outside the campground. Right outside the campground is a place you can pay to shower if necessary. You will not get service anywhere in the campground, beware! Everyones so chill and you can take a path to the ocean and lay on the rocks at night to see ALL THE STARS. Such a dreamy campsite. Can't wait to come back.

Was planning to camp here before the Common Ground faire with my 1yo child and girlfriend. We were charged $25 dollars for my compact vehicle, on top of another $30 for a "parking pass" - One night on A-route. Ripoff. Why do I need a parking pass if I have a site and one vehicle? Unfortunately I didn't have a plan B. Site is nice enough, kind of close to other campers though. You can basically make eye contact with each other. Bathrooms are the redeeming quality of the campground. They are well taken care of. Cars will beam you nonstop until 9pm, then you get the roamers.. In short: The surprising rate increase was ridiculous. I wouldn't come here again, and I will be sure to spread the word.

Its your basic hardwoods campground. Don't think that because its in a National Park that it is special. The campground itself is most likely no different than any other campground in the woods you have stayed at previously. Stand at your site and look around..... you will see about 12 other camp sites. Bathrooms were cleaned daily. Campground in a good location for all the park activities. Convenient pay showers located a few hundred yards outside the campground entrance. Loop "A" has a nice trail leading to cliffs overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.
