Been going for years. Bill is as friendly as always. Bill loves paddlers, either with their own boats or needing to rent one. Perfect for kayaking the most scenic paddling on the east coast. Bill has a fresh water pond for rolling or self-rescue practice. You can paddle out and stay on an island for an overnight and then return to the camp ground for a hot shower and go into town for a nice meal. Always clean and quiet. I highly recommend this out of the way jewel of the Maine coast.

We rented kayaks and did a half-day tour with our four kids. Bill was super friendly and accommodating with our younger ones. Rebecca (at the desk) and our guide, Kristie, were fantastic-- fostering independence with the kids, encouraging them when they were tired, setting up kayak games to help with their skills and geocaching on the island, educating us re edible plants and hidden wildlife. Fantastic experience... would highly recommend Old Quarry OA.

Just returned from a hidden gem of a paradise at the very tip of Deer Isle in Stonington, Maine. Old Quarry Ocean Adventures is one of Maine's best kept secrets - spectacular location, picturesque setting on Webb Cove, looking and feeling like Maine at it's most lush and beautiful, with ponds, little water falls, platform camp sites nestled among towering trees that pick up the ocean breezes. We rented some of their top of the line kayaks and canoes and pushed off from this private tip of the stubbly Maine coast to inspect the peppering of islands close by. They served up the freshest of fresh Maine lobsters, cooked for us on an open flame right by our pot luck picnic. It would be hard to dream of anything better. Well managed, spotlessly clean, friendly staff, lessons and trips available, top flight equipment, and, of course, Maine at it's loveliest. Can't wait to return.

The staff was very helpful in getting us into the water quickly and provided ample resources to navigate around.
