My wife and I came here on a quick stop on our way to Eagle. We wanted to quickly explore Aspen shops as well as grab a bite to eat. The staff was very nice about letting our dogs come inside to get out of the cold and they also help us make a decision on what to eat. Everything smelled delicious but we both ending getting their signature wurst and loved every bite. Great time for a quick stop.

The Swiss Dog is amazing! Pork and veal sausages that pop when you bite into them with curry spice, German mustard, onion, and fresh arugula. Paired with a Trümer Pils, you might have the perfect meal. They also have a full bar for some evening fun.

The menu is about the soup and the sausage - chicken soup and pork and veal brat. Simple and perfect. The Swiss Hot Dog is a Vail institution, bridging gaps and bringing people together. Great beer selection and full bar, small yet spacious, welcoming and cozy. Not to be missed.

The essence of Vail...Swiss hot dogs that are actually Austrian but the little hint of curry powder makes you not give a damn about the country of origin. Great little joint and the owner Monie carries on the Vail legacy—her Pops Ernst built Vail along with his bro Heinie—those guys were the talk of the town back in the day and their spirit lives on in every Austrian draft you suck down. Try a shot of Austrian rum and join the Blüe Cow cult.

The dog itself is worth it but aside from that you can tell the owner has been to a lot of ski towns around the world and sees what kind of character a little food spot in an alpine village needs to have to be memorable. Also, the soup is really good.
