The Red Lion is a landmark located in the heart of Vail Village in Vail Colorado. Opened in 1962 by the Burdick family, The Red Lion has always been a place where people come together to meet, greet and celebrate. The Red Lion has a delicious eclectic menu and specializes in BBQ and some of the best appetizers you've ever had. The rest of the menu rounds out with steaks, burgers, fish, beautiful salads, sandwiches and a kids' menu that covers all the bases. We offer the best in entertainment with mainstay Phil Long. Phil has been with the Red Lion for over 20 years and makes sure everyone has a great time.

We were hoping to get some food (for two of us) and then meet some friends (two friends) coming into Vail after we were off the slopes. Just took my name and gave me a buzzer. Didn’t tell me a wait. So we waited almost 30 minutes. When called up, they asked if my whole party was here. Did not tell me the whole party had to be there. Really terrible service. We ended up going across the street to Los Amigos.

This place is awful. Service was terrible. Food is overpriced and awful and even the manager knows it. I would genuinely dine and dash at a restaurant this bad.

The service was good and the food was good except for the meat. My wife and I shared a rib and brisket BBQ platter. The ribs were a little dry even though it came right off the bone. The brisket was quite dry and basically flavorless. They offer a choice of their own house BBQ sauce or a more traditional sauce. The house sauce was way too tangy (too much vinegar), so I would avoid that one. The rest of the food was good though; we had the onion rings appetizer, and baked beans and cole slaw sides. If the meat hadn't been dried out, it might have been 5 stars.

Food was decent, don't get the ribs, they're dry. Waited 45 minutes to get mediocre service and hardened $14 queso. For food as expensive as it was, I'd say it was worth 1/3 of what was actually paid.
