In Spain, it is a slang word for Bocadillo or sandwich. In Salt Lake City, it is a great new artisanal sandwich place opened in the City Creek Center food court. Brought to you by the same people that opened the award-winning Settebello Pizzeria Napoletana in Utah, Bocata makes sandwiches, salads and soups from scratch daily using the highest-quality ingredients. Come by and watch our delicious Italian-style bread baking in the custom brick oven that highlights our restaurant. Check out fresh ingredients like the porchetta (Italian pork roast) or homemade meatball. It’s good stuff! For being in a food court, this is exceptional. They literally bake their bread right there in a brick oven. The service is pretty mediocre, it seems like the people there don't really want to be there, and they slap your sandwich together in seconds like nothing, but it's so tasty... So so tasty.

We were visiting from Boston and decided to try Bocata for lunch one day. We loved it! My son wanted to go back, but there is only one that we could find. DELICIOUS! We especially loved the caprese sandwich.

Good food but terrible service. One of the cashier ladies (there are several I think but I'm talking about only one in particular) was consistently rude to me. One time she forgot to give me something from my order which is fine, we're all human... but she accused me of lying until she remembered and apologized. I'm never giving these people my money again

I love the bread here! It is heavenly. The ingredients all taste fresh and the service is pretty fast. I have never gotten anything I don't like, but I most recently had the grilled chicken sandwich and I loved it! If the sandwiches don't sound good to you, you at least have to get a side of bread to try!
