Great spot all year around for family picnics and enjoying the beautiful lake views!  The area has come a long way since I was a child vacationing here with my family. They have restrooms, picnic tables, park benches, and a gazebo  style picnic area for larger gatherings needing shield from the elements.  There is a small floating dock to walk down on and take in the lake views. You can usually see duck, and fish really well. Great spot for photographing the landscape, sunsets, and family portraits! Easily a spot you can spend all day at or just an hour and move on to the next destination in town!

Nice place for picnic. They offer some lake sports for the little ones. Nice atmosphere.

Thinking Big Bear is a place for ski only in the winter season, think no more. Big Bear is such a wonderful place during the summer: entertainment activities at the lake, with fishing, boat, kayaking; nice high quality hiking trails with a beautiful scenery, where the place is looking like a Yosemite, fresh clean air, blue sky etc. A world difference on traffic between winter and summer: easier to drive during the summer time.
