Story

Bowie Siding & Roofing, Inc. has served the Bowie/Crofton area, Maryland and Virginia for over 45 years. We are a family owned and operated Christian business dedicated to making homes not only beautiful and maintenance free but also energy efficient. We love to do all jobs large or small and specialize in insurance work, energy efficiency and maintenance. We are fully licensed and insured. We hold certifications in Lead Safe Work Practices, are Tamko Pro contractors, CertainTeed Shingle Masters and Simonton Windows Master Consultants among other things. In 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016 we were bestowed the honor of being the Bowie Blade Reader's Choice winner for "Best Roofing" and have also won awards for "Best Windows and Doors" and "Best Contractor". It is our pleasure to serve the community and look forward to a long relationship with this area.

My experience was so positive! Jocelyn in the office came to my home to clearly explain the terms of my contract. It helped me make an informed decision. Joe and Jimmy worked steadily and hard with great results. I love the new look and quality of the materials and work.  They are honest, helpful and reliable.  I highly recommend them!

Not quite sure what happened to this company.  I had work done by them about six years ago and got the royal treatment.  The work they did was good.  However, I contacted them recently about some work, and instead of talking to me about what I asked them to repair around the house, they would only talk about replacing my roof.  Even gave me an estimate on the roof ONLY and not the main items I asked to be repaired.   

The most surprising thing was how rude Richard, the owner, has become.  Customer service is key with me, and he failed the test.  I asked him questions about the items I wanted fixed, and he would not stop talking about my roof. He went on and on and on trying to tell me what was wrong using a whole lot of technical jargon that I didn't understand.  I was trying to ask him basic questions for basic answers. He was talking about things I wasn't asking about.  At one point he told me if I would just be quiet, he would be able to explain everything to me about my ROOF. So at that point, I decided that it would be a cold day in July before I would use them again, but I let him proceed since he seemed to have a need to show his knowledge about roofs, which was on the bottom of the list of my priorities that I'd presented to him.

A couple of weeks later, and then a few weeks after that as well, someone from their office called asking if I had decided to get my roof done by them. Both times I explained to her how rude the owner was to me and the fact that my other requests were totally ignored, and how I only got a quote for the roof because that's all THEY were interested in repairing.  Her response was, "Oh, okay". Then she hung up. Well, they're all family, so what should I have expected?  

Needless to say, another contracting company with the highest BBB rating possible will be replacing my roof for a much lesser cost.   My neighbors across the street used them a decade or so ago to replace their roof, and it was shabby and it had to be redone.  I don't know what has happened to Bowie Siding and Roofing, but they seem to be chasing customers away now by their rude, devil-may-care attitude, and by not standing by their work according to many of their recent customers I've communicated with.  I would never use them again, nor can I recommend them to anyone.

I have done business with this company many times. Now that I have a problem with a window seal that has been replaced before, they don't want to replace it. There attitude is terrible and rude and they simply don't care about doing the right thing. I will file a complaint with the BBB. Also, SIMONTON Windows, the manufacturers of the windows, of which I have called are the same. Absolutely no customer service. This is the second window that has a bad seal, so it's obvious that there product is not very good. I would definitely not recommend this company to anyone. The issue is, if you need customer service in the future, you simply won't get it. They are a rip off company and the product they peddle is junk.

Just had the siding replaced on my home.  Crew was friendly, efficient and professional.   Family-owned company was easy to work with and I am very satisfied with the final product.  Highly recommend this company.
