Great place to learn to fly.  Plenty of FBO's to choose from. Receive training, checkouts, Biannauls, FAA DE on the field. And the Airport is not as complicated  as I hear from other pilots from nearby airports. Simple really, 4 runways, 2 each running parallel where you may run into trouble is when taxiing, bring an airport diagram and ask for progressive taxi.

I went through ground school and got all my training hours in at Buchanan, so I'll always consider this my home airport. Reporting 10 miles out over the Pittsburg stacks is like coming home.

When earthbound, it's always fun to stop by the observation area at Buchanan and do some dashboard dining or let the kids play in the new play area. There's an outdoor speaker tuned to 119.7 blasting out the tower chatter for all within earshot to hear.
