Now it's time for the 2nd of the 2 best fast food restaurants in Vallejo...Bud's Giant Burgers. This has been a staple of high school lunches since I went to high school in 1983-1985, and BEFORE. These are burgers that other establishments try to become and surpass, but CAN'T. Each burger is large, and cooked well, unless specified, and well seasoned, then piled high with basic condiments of lettuce, tomato, onion, cheese bacon & avocado are extra mustard and mayo. These can can come single, double, and triple in size...I have never tried a 3-patty burger, just too big!! Fries come in 3 sizes, served in cups versus bags, and are crispy YET soft enough to pack your cup. The lines can get long around lunch/dinner, so try the off hours 1st... you won't be disappointed. As you frequent more often, and you will, be brazen and try bigger combos until you find what you're comfortable with. I will travel 2 1/2 hrs, twice a month, for lunch here and Sac's Tasty Dogs. Avoid McDonald's, Burger King, In & Out, etc... eat at Bud's for a fantastic meal.

First of all, Bud's Giant Burgers, is first and foremost, a Vallejo institution.  If you're local, you've probably eaten there or grew up doing so.  I very much enjoy their food. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because despite serving burgers...they DO NOT serve onion rings.  This is my own personal hang-up. The food is great! The mega-burger can accommodate even the appetite of an advanced foodie, such as myself.  The service has ALWAYS been fantastic for me! In and out in 5 minutes tops!  The atmosphere,  unfortunately, can be a bit ghetto at times.  While this doesn't bother me personally, i could imagine the atmosphere being intimidating for some.

Best fries in town... Get the family size, you won't regret it. Steak sandwich is good if you like Bulls eye BBQ sauce, meat is a little tough sometimes... Can't blame the cook for quality of meatFood: 5/5

I ordered a giant double cheese burger with bacon and got this happy meal,I should of just went to the Chinese restaurantFood: 1/5

Cashier was not welcoming at all and I even got a little eye roll as I was ordering. I ordered and went on my way, to get home a see 1 item in my order was incorrect. I went back to get the correct burger and was treated as if it was my fault with no apology or anything. They did make it right the 2nd time, but the attitude in this establishment is unreal. I have not been to Bud's in awhile so I thought I'd try it, but won't be back.

One of the things that I miss about living in Vallejo is Bud's! There is bacon in every bite if you get the bacon burger! Hole in the wall, honest to goodness deliciousness!!! I make the hour drive sometimes just for Bud's!!Dine in: NoOutdoor seating: NoTakeout: Yes

Bud's is a Vallejo staple. The burgers are big and they have the best fries. When Bud retired he sold the business to his staff. The Staff owners maintain the quality burger meat taste. I revisited on 2/21/2023 and the Burger is super good. They are consistent in the quality of taste.

WITHOUT QUESTION the BEST hamburger anywhere. I have been coming here since 1979 and have tried burgers all over the Bay Area and beyond. No tricks, gimmicks or claims of grass fed beef from nurtured cows etc. Bud’s puts burgers on a well seasoned grill and delivers the tastiest burgers you’ll ever have. Couple that with fresh cut, to-die-for fries and you’ll be back forever. Small seating area, orders processed quickly. It’s absolutely Burger Bliss. Order the #1:  Double burger, fries and a soda under ten bucks. BTW:  Bud’s is ONLY about burgers. No chicken, no nuggets, hot dogs etc. When you hear about “Burgers & Fries” FORGET the Five Guys.

Great burgers and don't forget to add the grilled onions on them! Fries have that half peel on them which is delicious as well. Burger was my kind of hood burger vs big chain mac's / whoppers.

The fries were terrible. I found a piece of God knows what in there, as you can see in the photo. It looks like a label. They were also bland. The hamburger was bad: it was also bland. The produce on it was good but I wish there was more cheese. Waste of time and money. Would not recommend.
