I made reservations on line for pickup at airport in a Moline. Well due to weather my flight was delayed and because of that Budget charged me more! And than i turned car in 3 days early than scheduled and they still charged me same amount. I called them out on it and they came up with all kinds of other charges! And than i also received a bill in the mail for gas to fill the car up-which i had filled up myself before returning it. So i called them on that- there response was they wanted to know the name of the gas station and address even though i had the receipt! NEVER again will i or my family do any business with  Budget!

Reserved a car, prepaid, for 11/25/2017 9 am at the Quad City Airport. Arrived 15 minutes early. The computers for both Avis and Budget were not working. Poor man in front of us had been waiting for 1 and 1/2 hours. We waited as long as we could and left.  Checked about a refund and there is a $150 no show fee. - a follow up to this, was able to get this straightened out (hopefully) via a 800 phone call. So changed rating to a 3

 Customer service representative at the desk at the Quad city airport location was very rude! They said they didn't have our reservation. We made it online and had to wait two hours and after two hours they still did not have a reservation!!!

I usually rent from a different company, but they were booked solid, so I rented from Budget.  They have a new customer now!  Checkout was quick - I was able to pay online, and was given a discount for doing so.  Check in was quick, the staff was friendly, and the car was clean.

Renter Beware:

I needed a car rental to drive one way from the Quad Cities to Dallas, TX.  The car I was issued, while newish, wreaked of cigarette smoke, so it was no surprise that the back seat had cigarette burns.  That, I can get over.

I rented the car at 6pm in the Quad Cities and returned it in Dallas at 7pm.  They charged me an additional $125 for being an hour late.  This was NOT made clear when I rented the vehicle.  

They also charged me for insurance without asking me.  I wouldn't have agreed to those charges since my company insures me.  

I called to dispute the charges, and was rebuffed after being told both the hourly provision and insurance opt-in was buried in the terms and conditions of the contract I signed.  

No thank you.  Never again. I normally go with National and will continue to do so, as the contrasting service levels are stark.
