It was beautiful. The fishing/swimming area was very close to the camping sites, but we did not feel comfortable here. The campers, which were another race, made a point to stop and stare at us and there was absolutely no cell phone reception. If you do plan on making this trip, I suggest bringing walkie talkie to communicate between vehicles there aren't very many rest areas along the route we took.

The river itself is a thing of beauty yet with each passing year I make new discovers of the land around it as well. There is something for everyone , hiking, biking, canoeing, white water rafting, or just quiet contemplation as you stand at the base of a bluff and marvel at the power of water. There of memories in this park to last a lifetime.

It was my first time camping & I thought I wasn't the "camp type" but I freaking LOVED IT! It was beautiful, all our camp neighbors were nice, restrooms we're clean. It even stormed and I liked that. My only complaint I have is park ranger Jerry literally harrased us, made it a little uncomfortable. For that reason we won't go back there.

Hiked South Maumee to Spring Creek road. Did some trail maintenance and enjoyed the views. Best time of year for hiking the Ozarks. Several frozen waterfalls were a beautiful surprise. 5.3 miles I would rate it moderate. Get out and enjoy our best time of year in the SEE THROUGH FORREST!!

Water is the perfect color in March. Not heavily populated with tourists yet. Serene and relaxing.
