Butterfly Pavilion is the zoo of small wonders and BIG experiences! Our mission is to foster an appreciation of invertebrates while educating the public about the importance of conservation of threatened habitats in the tropics and around the world.

Did you know? Butterfly Pavilion was the nation's first stand-alone nonprofit insect zoo! In our exhibits visitors see and interact with live invertebrates from around the globe!

Awesome for whole family! Great prices, educational and FUN! Basic food menu of hamburgers, hot dogs and brats (grilled outside while you wait) with chips and choice of bottled drinks but for no more than a fast food meal. Rosie the tarantula is SUPER COOL to hold! Beautiful Butterfly park to explore as well as other species rooms- nice gift shop with real bug candy as well as beautiful hand made items. Took 5 year old son and 9 year old daughter and spent 3 hours there with no problem. Definitely recommend!

This place is awesome! We took our 4 year old here for a 3 day camp (2 hours each day). He loved it! We'd visited previously so we knew what to expect. There's really a ton to learn at this venue, more than perhaps the name implies. The butterflies are truly incredible, but so is the insect area. All around a fantastic place for kids and adults alike.

I must say, I was thoroughly impressed! Don't let the name fool you. Yes, they have butterflies but there is also so much more! Plenty of insects and a ton of tarantula as well. For the money I really enjoyed this place. The culmination is the butterfly viewing area (pavilion). There is no doubt that you get to see plenty of them flying around. They also have an outside area on their grounds that gives you a great interpretive experience on elevation systems (prarie dessert etc). Very interesting and most likely you will catch a prairie dog or two. If you are in Denver this is definitely something I would put on my list.

Very memorable experience! Check for release times. We enjoyed their last hour and a half open and there were very few other visitors which made our time there feel special. The gardens were misted before the release and it was something I would definitely love to do again. The price was also very reasonable for our family of 4.

Had never been before but we had a great time with our 4 yr old daughter, she even held Rosie! I definitely want to recognize Alex from your staff. He was awesome, he is so knowlegeable and you can tell he really loves what he does.
