Honestly I have never left a bad review ever before, ever. But today was December 26, and I went to Cables to exchange a jacket I received for Christmas. The line was long for the cashier, but I had made a special trip down to make the exchange it was the day after Christmas after all so I gave the benefit of the doubt. When I got to the front of the line I walked up the cashier and told him I had an exchange, then with a cringe he told me that he could not do returns or exchanges and that I would have to wait in another line just as long as the first. I would not be upset if there had been a posted sign or something indicating returns and exchanges where not excepted at the cashier, but there wasn’t anything anywhere indicating this information! I did not want to kill the messenger so I asked to talk to the manager and explained to him that I had already waiting in one very long line had made a special trip down to the store and asked nicely if there was anyway he could help me get this exchange done. He said that he couldn’t help me, and that was just they way things where. I can’t remember leaving a store so frustrated! Needles to say I still am in possession of the jacket that doesn’t fit. Really one of the worst experiences I have had at a store in a long time.

Nice store. However the young girl at the front desk- maybe you should drink some coffee before you start your shift- not the brightest. no one can get me a cart or offer to help me ? I had a HUGE Box I carried to the car no one even held the door open ! what kind of world do we live in??

Save $25 per firearm, and $0.05 per round ammunition tax from Cook county by traveling a bit further west. Nice selection of items. Decent customer service. I handle firearms here and buy somewhere else.

When this store first opened it was the greatest store I've ever seen. Two floors and more to do and buy than you can imagine and the customer service was amazing. I don't know what went wrong but this is NOT the Cabelas I remember. Apparently it's too much to ask for them to actually staff the store. Same complaint as everybody. Can't get any help. Not to mention the inventory has dwindled to basically nothing. Might well be the last time I shop here

Always a great place to visit and buy sporting goods. GREAT animal display. Best around. Will not disappoint. Cook county slapped a 5¢ tax on certain bullets.... Really? What's next toilet paper?
