I couldn’t have fallen in love with this place like I did and NOT leave a glowing review. I’m pregnant and vegetarian and this was my first trip to California. My sister-in-law who lives there took me and my husband here just to get a quick bite before we finished our sightseeing but the veggie tacos were to die for! While she wanted me to get to try some other restaurants before the end of the trip, I couldn’t get these veggie tacos out of my mind so we made sure to go back so I could get 4 more for the road. Whenever I make it back to Oakland, Cactus Taqueria will most certainly be my FIRST STOP!!!

The steak tacos are so good here. Crunchy and filled with a lot of romaine lettuce. Just nd to eat it carefully because your food will begin to fall out from the other end of the other side of the taco. I've noticed the prices have risen, but it is still very reasonable. There is usually a line to order your food. After ordering, go toward the pick up area to get complimentary salsa and water and utensils. The place is constantly being bussed by a designated person. Lots of families eat here. I would definitely go here in the future.

Great food. The crispy chicken tacos are my favorite. Good place to take a group of kids.

Convenient location next to Rockridge BART with open airy environment, on the ground level. Individuals, groups and families welcomed; has booster seats (wooden). Food is made to order, choice of vegetarian or meats, type of beans, etc. Has Mexican beer, but no cocktails. Late hours.
