This is the worst Cafe Rio I have ever been to. This is not the first bad experience I have had. No one was there and everyone ignored me as they talked in Spanish for five minutes. I had to ask to order. Then the lady was annoyed at me that I was asking for certain things and she said that they didn’t have shredded lettuce or guacamole just because the containers were empty. The meat was dry and the lettuce was soaking wet. They kept talking in Spanish and the only thing they communicated to me was the total. It was awful costumer service and food. I would give them no stars if I could. Do not expect me to go back to this location.

Ordered online for a pick up for my coworkers. I placed the order around 10:15 AM for a 11:30 AM Pick up time. When I got there, I walked right up to the counter and was able to pay. I was told that they were just finishing up a few more meals (I ordered 10) and it would just be a short wait. After waiting for 30 minutes, I waited in the same line for another 15 minutes only to be told that they were still waiting on 4 more meals. There was another customer waiting as well and she told me that they had said that the grilled chicken wasn't ready and that was why it was taking so long. Never once was I told anything from the workers, other than "sorry for your wait". I have been to this Cafe Rio a few times, but never has my experience been this awful. The only good thing was that everyone's food was still good and no one had any issues with their orders.

I stopped by Cafe Rio at 2885 S 5600 W--the Hunter location. I asked to speak to the manager. Eventually, she came to ask what I needed. I explained that 1-2 weeks ago, my friend was there dining in, when three employees conspired to steal her purse and hide it behind the counter. I explained that she asked them about if they had seen her purse, which had disappeared, and they kept denying they knew anything. After she asked to speak with the manager, the manager continued to act like the manager knew nothing about it. She mentioned talking to the police, and so the manager asked for more details about what the purse looked like. In no time, they produced her purse from behind the counter. Since then, she contacted the corporate office of Cafe Rio and was impressed by how thorough HR was in gathering information from her. HR asked her if she wanted a copy of the security camera footage which clearly showed the employees putting her purse behind the counter and then talking with her without giving her the purse back The manager I spoke with had not heard of the incident. I asked her if she knew if the employees involved had been terminated yet. She had no idea. I am a bit surprised that the general manager or owner of this location did not give a stern talking to the various managers and let them know that this was entirely unacceptable. I would expect the three employees involved to be terminated and the manager on duty either suspended, demoted, or terminated. Until further notice from Cafe Rio, I will not be buying anything from that location. In addition to this, this location also gets the lowest rating from me compared with any other Cafe Rio I have been to. At no other location have I had a bad experience with food quality. At this one, several times, the rice has been undercooked and crunchy. A couple times, the pork barbacoa has not been shredded enough, so there were large pieces.

This place needs new management. Made a pick up order at 10:30 AM for 11:30 AM pick up. 2 tacos, rice beans. Easy. Get to the store at 11:35. The line was out the door. It took 20 minutes just to give the girl at the counter my name to find out it was not ready. 2 ladies in front of me had already been waiting 45 minutes. Finally get my food at 12:05. Late from lunch. Get back to work, to find out, i have 2 salmon tacos instead of 1 steak 1 salmon, no lettuce and nothing on them. They did pack up some salsa and steak for me, but there is no lettuce, no cheese, no guacamole i paid for. So, it took them 2 hours to give me the SOME of the stuff to make my own tacos. I will be requesting a refund. Will never go here again.
