Stay away from this place like the plague. My son was sent here from his doctor because he has pneumonia. The whole 2 days he was here it was nothing but a fight. My son has to have his temperature taken rectal, I don't know why, but it's the only way you can get an accurate temperature. They refused for a hour and a half and finally took it to find out, yes he has a temperature and needs Tylenol. They said nothing is wrong with him but, said he has lungs of a 70 year old that's been smoking his whole life. He's 5. They also refused to give him a flu test after asking numerous times to be told, we don't think he has any flu like symptoms and then offered to send him home. We took him home because honestly, we cam provide better care than they can. At least we can take his temp. And give him medicine for it. We took him to a different doctor this morning to find out, no he doesn't have lungs of a 70 year old smoker but he does have severe pneumonia and the flu. They rushed him to Sanford hospital where he is now being treated for his life threatening illness. Also to throw in there, he has severe asthma. This isn't the first time, in fact this type of thing has happened many other times. This crosses the line though. We will never go here again. I wouldn't bring my dog or cat here. The place is filthy. And I will be contacting my attorney. Hopefully nobody dies, if they haven't already, from this hospitals negligence.

Had heart surgery here. It has been wonderful. Some of the best nurses. They care and the food was pretty decent for a hospital. No issues at all.

My mother-in-law was just diagnosed with terminal cancer. Drove 14 hours with a 3year old and a 6 month old so she could see them while she was still well. Doctors don’t expect her to leave the hospital, she is on a breathing machine. Turned away at the door because no one under 12 is allowed to visit due to the flu. Offered to wear masks. No. Asked if we could wait in the lobby while the rest of the family visits. The answer was no. Currently sitting outside in the cold. I hope when my healthy kids get sick from your policy there allowed through the door.

It’s sad that we have this hospital in our town. I will tell you why I say this. My husband was in car wreck on last Thursday near BJs . There was nobody with him. I think god sent an angel to rescue. She came tried to keep his eyes open and called the police and ambulance. Wherever she is, god bless her. Ambulance took him to hospital. They kept him on the wheel chair, asked him few questions and left him in the hallway. After 45 mints , when he saw he had little strength, he got up and told the nurse that I want to go home. They just cut the ID brecelet and let him go. He came out called a cab and came home. This is just unbelievable , they let him go. They had only told him that his blood pressure is too high. They didn’t even ask him the contact number or anything. There was no one in the house. I was in Raleigh. What if something would have happened. Hospital has some kind of liability towards their patient. I would appreciate if somebody can help me with this situation, so nobody should be treated as my husband was treated. Thanks, This is my experience with Cape Fear Hospital.
