Clean playground. Clean restrooms. Tennis courts and plenty of picnic tables. Would be a fun place to host a birthday party or baby shower.

Great park and quiet. I went for the basketball court but had a concrete volleyball court, children's playground, baseball field, park benches and plenty of grass.

Many parks reside in our beautiful, picturesque beach town city that is called Oceanside. Because of the many functions these parks serve, and to be fair to all our parks, let us focus on the practicality of built structures at park locations, accessibility, open space, social gathering areas, bbq/fire services and also bathroom and clean up services are ideal at a park meant for gatherings of a social nature. Now that we're clear i have clearance to stat my review of this commonly forgotten park in Oceanside. Beautiful, lovely, peaceful and amazing. Open space, bathrooms, huge parking lot, all the swings and slides you need at the appropriate age you utilize them. The hill and the entrance to the park have fatal incident potential, but you're going to a park, peace and calm patience should be the common practice. Alas, thus park is not "perfect". As with the rest of Oceanside, Capistrano Park had a mean streak for, what i will call, "a few years". Heavy transient populations in the canyons and the harbor attribute to this seemingly random assortment of homelessness who accidentally happened upon this park. I assure you it is no accident. Captown itself (the neighborhood) serves as a bridge between the harbor and open waters of the Pacific to the canyons that run along side the dried up San Luis Ray river bed which leads inland to the Valley. All of this, theres got to be more, is my perception of this lovely, quaint park. With its reputation, notoriety and the times it weathered the storms, this park is top 3 easily in Oceanside. It does not show its age or any scars from previous turmoil. I love Oceanside. I just wish they would stop building sh** and quit selling it all away piece by piece.
