Mary Beth was very nice and answered all my questions. She didn't keep calling more than necessary and pressuring me. I got a nice, used car from them, with a better rate than I was offered elsewhere. I would recommend this for first time car buyers, like me.

I bought a vehicle from this CarMax location last month & the overall sales process was relaxed and smooth; their approach of no-haggle pricing makes for a stress free experience and at no point did I feel pressured. I worked with Laurie, who was sweet and patient. However, because they don't yet have their certificate to inspect vehicles, I was required to get my new car inspected elsewhere & upon inspection was told I desperately needed new brakes & there was a bubble in the sidewall. I called and made an appointment with service, explaining my need for new brakes and a replaced tire. When I arrived for my appointment a week later, I was told that indeed I needed knew brakes but would have to wait another week as they had to order parts - a proactive approach would have been appreciated; I essentially waited eight days for them to tell me what I already knew and now have to wait eight more to actually get the brakes replaced. The service woman also proceeded to tell me the bubble in the sidewall would not affect the vehicle's overall safety. This is downright wrong; I explained that it was a manufacturers defect & that it in fact could impact the safety as it can grow and eventually blow out/cause the tire to fail while driving (I used to work with service professionals as a field trainer in the tire industry). She appeared annoyed with with my response and at the end told me she ordered me a new tire, as well (as if she was doing me a big favor). I was not overly impressed with the customer service. I rarely write reviews, but I will not return for service here and this experience would make me hesitate to buy another vehicle here. It should not be this time-consuming and difficult to get issues fixed on a vehicle that should not have been sold to me in this condition in the first place.

Tough industry, and customers often feel like they're just someone's commission, not yet in hand, meaning the customer has little value before proving themselves to the salesman. CarMax seems carefully focused on fixing the customer experience of car-buying. Additionally, the quality of people and the training they receive sticks out in a world of inconsistent service quality and low professional standards. Having said that, they are a busy operation, so you may have a little waiting time, but they more than make up for it, but I've waited longer for a pizza! I had the good fortune to have Brian Abdou as my sales rep, and this guy is a humble superstar! The speed with which he sorted out and delivered what I wanted (and worked with the limitations I came with) was truly impressive. A wise young man, his sales approach was to be highly attentive to the details and every word I said and he delivered well beyond my expectations. One of the best consumer experiences I've had in years. Great organization and great people.

Nice, organized car lot. The no haggle prices make for a less stressful experience. Your experience may vary depending on which rep you get, but overall it is a simple, quick straightforward shopping experience. Cars are all open for you to pop in and out of without someone looming over your shoulder or pressuring you so it is a great spot to start your search for a car.
