Last week, I drove 7.5 hours to go test drive a car, enjoyed it, and went home to make a decision. I call in right around the time the hold was to end to buy the car and they tell me the car has been held for transport to another customer in Massachusetts and that my name was not "in the system" at all. Turns out in standard practice, after a customer test drives the car, their name is put into a system and the car becomes "Sale Pending". However, this did not happen in my case, and the car is now sent off to someone else. I should also mention, the sales representative who greeted and advised me last Thursday had little knowledge in the overall car buying process. I cannot recommend Carmax of Albany after this poor experience with them.

I felt like a number to them We had an awful overall experience! The Manager Mark, one of the most unprofessional and rude individuals I have ever met. On a positive note, we do love the car we purchased. But it took 6 hours (not an exaggeration) and was a nightmare. I have been trying to get in touch with them ever since and I am getting the run around from them, the call center in GA AND their cooperate office! MOST importantly, if you are selling them your vehicle and have GPS, be certain to delete all your addresses. They will not do this. I have the home address of the previous owner of my car. Lucky for them I am not an evil person. I hope whoever purchased our vehicle will do the same.

The customer care is truly staggering in its ineptitude. I tried to transfer a car calling twice a week for a month. A month! Each time I spoke to a new person, who was bewildered by my concerns. Finally, last week I talked to yet another “supervisor” who said they would transfer the car for free. And then disappeared. The business model seems to be: “don’t train the employees beyond being obsequious.” It never occurred to me that spending $20,000 would turn into a Herculean task. Ironically, I must add that I was trying to buying a used Lincoln hybrid -- a car nobody else wants.

I walk in and no one said anything or offering help, this is a new place, they should have incredible prices. Half of the inventory I could find it in a different dealer cheaper, and the other half is the same price has everybody aisles. Do your research before buying anything. If you are ready to purchase a car you can send an email to the dealer and discuss the offer that you are looking for, you don't have to speak to a sales person face to face to get a good price. And also will save you a lot of time.

The guy at the front desk was unbelievably rude. I asked him to help me a find a Benz we were looking for, he said “it was outside to the left”. We couldn’t find it, came back talked to him again and his words were “well I tried to send someone to help you but you sent him back and now you need to wait because everyone is busy and no one is free for you”. we never saw or talked to anyone outside. Also I told him we would like to test drive a car so if you can send someone with keys that will be great. His response,” thanks for the tip but the keys are on the car itself”. This is no way to talk to a customer. We have bought cars from Carmax in Virginia before. We will never go back to this place. Change your attitude if you want customers to come back to you.
