Since my wife teaches and I travel for business, time is precious.  A friend told me about how great these folks were, so I thought I'd give them an opportunity.  My Jeep needed a tune up, so to be "first in line" the following day, I dropped off the vehicle the night before.  The next day, by 12:30 I had not heard from them, so I called.  I was told there was one car in front of me.  At 4:55, I again called and was told that my car was just being pulled into the bay but they would not be able to get to it until MONDAY!  I was extremely upset, drove over, got my Jeep back and briefly explained what a lousy example of customer service this was.  The attitude I got back was that "we try".  My time is valuable, apparently these folks don';t seem to care.  I will NOT return - ever.

I recommended this business for years and was very pleased; however, the gentlemen who used to interact with the customers are gone and things are very different.

I had my truck towed in with an issue that prevented it from starting.  I gave them some relevant history which included that the spark plugs had been replaced just a couple of months ago and asked them to call for authorization before they performed any work above the $100 diagnostic fee they asked for.  They said the work would take a day.  Fast forward 4 days and the truck isn't complete and I've spent the last four days calling twice a day for an update being told "we don't know what the problem is but we'll tell you when we do."

Finally, an hour before they closed on Friday I decided to drive up and figure out what's going on.  I walked in the door and told them who I was.  The first words out of the owner's mouth were "Your #$*$# phone don't work!"  I was informed that they had the truck ready and I could take it.  I asked what work was performed and was told the spark plugs were replaced among a few other minor things (inspected air cleaner, cleaned egr).  Apparently they had spent all four days driving and "testing the truck" while telling me on the phone that they didn't have anything to report.

The rudest phrasing I've ever heard from a business ensued ("I didn't need your authorization because I knew what in the #$#&#* you were going to say!") and I was told to leave their business and I couldn't have my truck.  Eventually I left with the truck but the majority of the money I had to pay was for the one bit of work I'd told them was already done.

These people are scammers.  STAY AWAY!

Oh and my phone that "don't work"? The owner had typed the number into his cell phone incorrectly and had been getting the "invalid number" message for four days and didn't figure it out. The correct contact number was in their computer and printed on my invoice.

They were recommended by someone at my 75 year old mothers church.  We took her car in and it took them 3 days to change a thermostat.  Terrible customer service.  He never once called me to tell me what was wrong, I had to constantly call him.  Even when we dropped it off we stood in the dumpy entrance for awhile before anyone even spoke to us.  After he "fixed" it the check engine light kept coming on with a code for a bad thermostat and the temp gauge never went up from cold.  We took it back to him two times and he claimed it could be one thing or another but we didn't want him to touch the car again.  Finally took it to meineke where they replaced the thermostat again and told us that he had not only put the wrong one in but that he didn't replace the housing which according to them should be done. So she basically paid to have the exact same thing done again.  Went back to the owner Kevin I think it is and he was very rude and even though it says they warranty their work he refused to give us any money back.. He was extremely rude and I would never take anything to him.. thinking about small claims court.  All he had to do was be nice and offer some of the money back and we would have been satisfied but instead he was rude.

I have had great experiences with Carolina Auto. The help and service I recieve are over the limits. They not only help me with my problem in a timely matter, but they give me the service that I deserve as a customer. Every problem I have had with my automobile, they have found the source of the problem and repaired it in a timely matter. And the service and respect, is off the top! I felt the charge was fair and the company stands behind the work they do. They are honest, and respective as me being a customer. Not only did the salesperson help me, the owner himself came out and helped me on the spot.... got me on the road and I have had no complaints. I have been doing business for 2 years with Jimmy and Kevin and will recommend them to everyone,,,,everyday! Thank you for the hard work and the dedication to your field!
