I shopped around for a good, honest shop to do some repairs on my 2001 F-150.  After getting a couple estimates from shops, and feeling the estimates were too high, I took it to Bruce at Carrollwood Auto Repair, and his estimate was in the same price range, but he included additional work the other shops had not.  While Bruce was doing the work, he keep me informed, explained his diagnosis procedure, and fixed things the correct way.  I left my truck with him and had him do additional work, now my truck runs like the day I bought it and I have a mechanic for as long as I live here.  You will not be disappointed with this shop, and Bruce is as good as any mechanic out there, very honest and a pleasure to work with.

Bruce fixed my 01 Malibu quickly after my check engine light came on and also gave it a thorough exam. Another mechanic told me I needed a wheel bearing replaced. Bruce said it was okay for now and should be fine. He also replaced a broken power searing fluid cap and didn't charge me for it. He did all this for a very reasonable price. He definitely does not try to rip you off and is always 100% honest. He is also accurate at diagnosing the problem. My car has been fine since bringing it to Bruce just before Christmas. I was able to drive out to Orlando to see family for the holiday thanks to Bruce!

I do not have enough positive things to say about this business.  I went to another shop, that rhymes with shmires plus, that indicated that I had quite a few things wrong with my car, air filter, oil, etc...  I got the oil changed, but I did the air filter and wipers on my own.  Got back and my car was leaking oil.  It's an old car, but all of a sudden, out of nowhere, after 16 years, my car starts leaking oil?  Looked around for some places with good reviews, and I came upon Carrollwood Auto Repair.

Just asked for an inspection, not indicating anything was wrong, just wanted him to look it over, see what he could find.  Well, it turns out, that a different oil plug had been used on my oil tank, so he switched it out for the right one.  He also asked if somebody had done work on the air filter because the sensor was disconnected.  He told me he's seen that scam before, they unplug the sensor, charge you to "fix the problem" and then just plug the sensor back in.

In short, went to another place that seemed to have intentionally messed with my car, he identified and fixed all the problems with little help from me.... Oh, he also didn't charge me for any of it.  I insisted I pay at least for the oil he topped off.

This was all over a year ago, but I have not taken my car to any other place since.  I have done other repairs with Bruce, and he always comes in under price, doesn't use refurbished parts if possible, and will stay longer if he has to to get the job done (One Saturday, he spent an extra 3 hours there because the break pad he ordered for my car had a crack in it, and he refused to install a damaged part.  He ordered another one, waited for the part, and didn't leave till the job was done).

10 (out of 5) stars for an honest business man with both experience and skill.  To say I recommend this place is an understatement of the vastest proportions.

I have known Bruce at Carrollwood Autorepair for nearly 2 decades. I always bring both me and my wife’s car in for repairs. Never once do I have to return it for the same issue, the work and atmosphere is spot on accurate and professional with complete transparency. I highly recommend this service garage for all your domestic and foregin car needs.

I usually take my car to the dealership for oil/filter change. At my last visit, they told me the steering wheel fluids is leaking from under the car and it will cost me about $1500 to fix since it can only be fixed by replacing the part. I didn’t let them do it.

I looked for other places to take my car to have another look at it. Came across this place, I called earlier in the day Bruce answered and told me to bring the car later so he can take a look. I took to him and he told me the leaking isn’t that bad. The car can be drivable up to a year depends on how bad it gets with time. He told me to keep an eye on it and just replace it whenever it gets worse. He didn’t charge me.

Bruce seemed an honest guy, and definitely looks like someone you can trust if you don’t have that much experience with cars.
