Horrible experience! no respect at all from Liberians toward former students or visitors who might need to use the library! Yes priority of services should be for current students (this is known in all libraries), but what about when it's not busy or not in use? They can at least carry themselves in a friendly professional manner! That's not how schools persuade students to their colleges! Been to many schools and libraries and they all been amazing at welcoming visitors and even allowing usage of their services and resources when one needs to study! This was just a poor attitude from them! So I don't actually recommend the library for their former students or visitors! Their guest-Wi-Fi wasn't working and so If you need a library try UMBC, they are more friendly! Try the Owings Mills Public Library, they have nice staff and are very friendly and also other schools in the area like Stevenson or Towson, they all offer welcoming environment!!

Quiet place to go and do school work.

I was thinking of coming here to do a self-study at the library. I want to see what they can offer to visitors and how nice they are to people. I just need a peaceful and welcoming place to study so I can have a clear mind and pass my upcoming exam. Hoping I won't get kicked out just because I don't have a college ID through CCBC.

Greetings Li, I am sorry you had an unsatisfactory experience at the CCBC Catonsville Campus Library. Please know your comments are taken seriously and I would like to address some of your concerns. The Café is closed during the summer due to fewer students on campus and low customer traffic. The Library Group Study Rooms are for CCBC students and a college ID is required. This is a common policy for college libraries to give priority to their currently enrolled students for services that receive high demand. Gnats during the summer can be problematic, but I assure you that issue has been resolved. Library signage indicates that covered drinks are allowed in the Library, but no food due to the fact that food attracts pesky bugs. I apologize for any poor customer service you received from my staff. Sometimes staff can appear less friendly when they are communicating policies. However, it is my expectation, that all staff carry themselves in a professional and courteous manner. I appreciate your thoughtful comments and hope you will return for a visit. There is a general quiet study area and a cafe that's never open. Group study rooms are open only if you have a student ID with the school, or else they ask you to leave. There are gnats haunting us in the public study space and no food or drink allowed. These are the worst librarians I have ever seen. They are rude, unprofessional, mean and snappy except for the redhead librarian. She is nice.
