Wish there was a 1/4 star...The Urgent Care center was under staffed (front desk overslept for "like the 12th time") There was a problem with BCBS website and system, therefore I was not seen unless I self paid...even though my card was valid. Front desk did not bother calling BCBS and told me I would have to work it out with BCBS. Have a pretty severe sinus infection and was told I'd have to "go to the hospital". Calling once I'm done to pull my records and never look back. Beware if you only see one person at the front desk. Sounds as if they sleep pretty well at night knowing they treat clients that way.

My daughter was visiting family the New Bern area and needed to visit an Urgent Care facility on a weekend. I did the research from home (outside NC), talked to our insurance, and found New Bern Family Practice Center listed as an Urgent Care center we could use on a "self-referral" since our primary care physician's office was closed for the weekend. She received wonderful care, but when we received our insurance statement, we found a problem. After talking to our insurance (TriCare), I contacted New Bern FPC and was told that though they are a doctor's office and Urgent Care under the same roof, they bill ONLY as a doctor's office visit, not as an Urgent Care center. THAT is a problem for insurance codes and payment. New Bern FPC referred me to their CCHC corporate billing to see if they could help, and I was told they do not bill as an Urgent Care, period. We had to pursue a retro-referral from our primary doctor. Thankfully, he was gracious enough to issue it. CHCC did say to call back if our doctor could not issue a retro-referral, and CHCC would consider a one-time billing correction. PATIENTS NEED TO BE TOLD that at least this facility, while advertizing as an Urgent Care, will not bill as an Urgent Care, causing insurance to bill you as "point of service", footing you with the bill with no payment from insurance. This is FALSE ADVERTIZING at best, and potentially an EXPENSIVE deception for the patients. Be aware.
