Story

Established in 1891, Central Maine Medical Center (CMMC) is a 250 bed tertiary care hospital and Level II trauma center located in Lewiston, Maine. CMMC is home to Central Maine Heart and Vascular Institute (CMHVI), the three-year Family Medicine Residency Program, and is one of two bases for LifeFlight of Maine (the State of Maine’s only air medicine program owned by Central Maine Healthcare and Eastern Maine Healthcare in Bangor). With its large and growing number of primary care providers, including internal medicine, family practice, pediatrics, NPs and PAs, the hospital also includes more than forty medical and surgical specialties.

My minor son was injured while on vacation. The arrogance at Central Maine Medical Center and Dr. Michael Reagan is unequalled. The lack of knowledge and ability to listen almost cost my son his leg. They held my son hostage for 9 days refusing to let him be transferred to another hospital. They provided virtually nothing for pain and infection, instead saying he was being difficult. We were verbally assaulted almost every day, my son for “not going along with the plan” and myself for questioning them and insisting they move him to a Boston Hospital. I was threatened to be arrested and removed by the police for speaking for my minor son. For going above their head and calling other hospitals and my insurance company. By the time I was able to have him transferred to a Boston Hospital His infection threatened amputation of his leg. To add to their incompetency they also missed a Major concussion and broken arm (keep in mind they had 9 days to find this he had all the classic signs) Because of their lack of care my son spent an additional 2 1/2 months bouncing between Mass General and Spaulding rehab. He was forced to endure 8 horrific additional surgeries (approx. 2 per week) which required reopening the leg and using a wound vac to attempt to remove the infection and debris left by CMMC. All while constantly fighting a major infection, an infection so bad he required a pic line with IV antibiotics for 9 months. (Even after his release he needed IV meds). Even now years after his release he is not all clear, he still will require more surgeries. STAY AWAY You are better off with a Band-Aid and a witch DR.

If I could give them none I would. My 16 yr old son was injured while on vacation. Their arrogance and lack or knowledge almost cost my son his leg. To add to their incompetency they also missed a Major concussion and broken arm (keep in mind they had 9 days to find this he had all the classic signs) Because of their lack of care my son spent an additional 31/2 months in the Hospital forced to endure 8 additional surgeries. Then to rehab for a month. All while constantly fighting infection so bad he required a pic line for 9 months. Even after his release for IV meds. And still will require more. STAY AWAY!!! You are better with a witch doctor and some bactine it's more than you'll get there.

The rn named Caleb is very disrespectful towards patients. My friend severely hurt her foot and was being very rude to her. While she's in pain asking him to stop for a moment he refused. And was yanking on her foot, as she's balling and freaking out in pain. Then she asks to speak to the doctor and rudely demands her that she needs to inform him. Overall very disappointed in this visit

SO PISSED WITH the e.r. staff, EVERY time I go in I'm given attitude not by nurses but the ladies at the front desk checking you in in the beginning. Today was the last straw i WILL NOTTTTTT BE RETURNING.Walked in because I thought I needed to be there to refile for a health insurance and before I can even sit the first lady is helping someone so she points me to go to the second lady so I do, then as I approach her desk to sit she says "just so you know next time you come here you need to sign in in that book over there, or you won't be seen." I say "okay????" Because this other ladies already told me right away to come to her... so then she asks my birthday I tell her, then says whats the problem today, I tell her about my insurance problem, she then says "ok nonononono, this isn't the place, you just almost got checked into the e.r!" VERRRRY RUDELY. Like..... okay? You DO NOT need to be so rude to me I'm just lost a little and you didn't even need to say that to me like that! you could have just provided friendly kind service and point me the right direction, IT'S ONE HIT OF A KEYBOARD BUTTON to not check me in? Not a big deal!!!! I'm just so sick of UNNESSARY RUDENESS!
