Exactly what my family and I wanted! Very laid back nothing fancy. Just time away to spend outdoors. I've read some of the reviews above and I can't agree. No there's no WiFi but that's why we are outdoors living life out of the city lights. It is worn and it probably has seen its glory days but for me that's not what we were looking for. We stayed in the cabins that we purchased for the weekend which includes a roof over your head and a place to lay down. So if you need time away from all that jazz and time to self reflect, watch the Daisy's grow, and campfires with your kids this is the place.

Ok.. I'm not one to write reviews, but this is one I can't help but write. At one time I can see how the campground could have been a nice place. But now, NO WAY!!!. There was a one inch gap under the door of my cabin which some people wouldn't mind. I did. I ended up using a rolled up sheet to block the "critters" from coming in. Trash was still in the receptacle in my cabin from the last people. "Sludge" around the pool. It wasn't chipped paint. It was gross people. The man was out skimming it at 10:30 at night without a light on and I swear he was just trying to listen to my sister and I conversation, seeing how we were the only people there. Just weird. And the other little cesspool off to the side that wouldn't even be acceptable for my dog to play in. Mini golf? Ha! It's not what your seeing online. And even if you attempt to "play" chances are the office won't be open where you get the clubs. I wouldn't have dared to take a shower there after seeing the bathroom(yikes!) but they were all locked anyway so I couldn't even if I wanted to. The sign says they close bathrooms daily for cleaning but we stayed there 4 days and the same wad of poopie toilet paper was stuck to the wall in the same stall. As well as the tampon/pad dispenser seriously overflowing! I could go on and on but i will close in saying please save your money and go somewhere else!

DO NOT GO HERE!! The business owners have no conscious--they outright lie about their services. After reading really scary and horrible reviews I didn't stay despite having a cabin reservation (so lost my reservation $$) but did ask about the boat to Smith Island, and the lady said it ran every weekend. I arrived to get the boat on Saturday, and she said it was out for an inspection. Learned a few minutes later, from the staff at the Tangier Island ferry that the boat was shut down FOUR years ago by the Coast Guard, but they continue to lie, even making people pay and then wait for a boat that never comes. They also kick people out of the campground and an RV was staying at the Tangier ferry parking lot because they were kicked out with nowhere to go. There were endless stories from the ferry staff about people having their cars beat on with brooms and such, and how many people get kicked out. KOA pulled their franchise years and years ago, too. So glad I didn't stay, it was super sketchy.

The only reason I am giving this place 1 star is so I can say how rudely I was treated today. I can understand why the place is so run down. Memorial day weekend and the grass hasn't been cut all year, the camp store was a wreck, the pool was not going to open because it was still green, and did i mention how absolutely awful the staff treated us. This place may have been a nice place at one time, but no longer. It is an absolute shipwreck! Beware, don't reserve a site without looking at the place first, they will keep your money and not refund it, even if you are there for 15 minutes. That's how long it took for me to want to leave.

Pros: nice level, waterfront sites, the Little Wicomico river is nice, the showers had a good flow of hot water. Cons: Expensive, then they'll tack on $5 a day for each canoe or kayak you bring; the campground is very poorly maintained, the gentlemen on the site next to me complained that the 50 amp service was not working on his site (he dropped down to 30 amp), the laundry room was filthy. We were there on July 4th weekend and you would have thought they could have cut the grass, it was a foot tall in places. We had a very heavy rain while there, and many parts of the campground had 1-4 inches of standing water all around. We actually had to use the 4wd to get unstuck at one point. The whole site looks like it is on the verge of being run down. I was surprised at how few campers were there over the holiday weekend; I would have expected this place to be full; instead, it was fairly empty. The people working there seemed okay, they were pleasant and helpful. Extremely poor cell service (AT&T), would have been nice to have had WIFI. No cable TV. Camp store was poorly stocked. There was a pool, we did not use it, so I don't know its condition. Finally, there was the camper who thought the entire campground would like to hear his bluegrass music. So much for enjoying the peaceful sounds of nature along the river.
