There was a storm there last night and it was pretty bad. So my other half and myself went up there to check on our property we have there. We are members so I'm just shocked they would not let us go in the camp ground. The older men that were at the gates said they will get in trouble by management if they let us thru. I'm sorry but I'm a member and can not check on my stuff. Complete amazed by the way this camp site is ran. Don't get me wrong they have a great staff just a horrible manager who needs to be fired. If there is damage done I need to know for insurance reasons and yet nope can't go in to the camp grounds. We asked them and they wanted to tell us our property is fine, how do they even know. Yet they have posted on the Gloucester moose for volunteers to come out and help with the clean up at the camp ground and wouldn't even let ppl come in to help. I will not be renewing our membership next year.

Definitely off the beaten path. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast on weekends is good and very reasonable. Bathrooms, pool, laundry very clean. Only downfall are storms that roll in and knock out the power. I will stay here again.

Thousand Trails Chesapeake is a camping resort on the Piankatank River. It has lots to do. There are cabins to rent also. We come every year for vacation to just relax and get away. The staff is very friendly and the management is excellent. I highly recommend this resort.
