We've gotten takeout from this Chipotle location about once a week for the last year. It has improved a lot in that time, so I'd just like to acknowledge that. Especially the attitude. It seemed like there were a few employees in the past who didn't feel like being nice. From time to time, we'd be ignored while our order was sitting behind the counter just waiting to be handed to us. But they're always responsive and friendly when we pick up our order now.
If I could give this place two-and-a-half stars, I probably would do it. And in all honesty, I've had 80% good experiences here, but it's the 20% I have to talk about. The convenience is amazing, so for anyone in downtown Santa Monica who wants something quick, this place usually is quick. That being said, the staff here sometimes feel like they're in kazahslovakagermansomoliguay. Yes, I made up that country because that's the only way I can viscerally explain the experience sometimes here. I've had a long piece of plastic in my burrito in 2021 that I had to reach out to corporate and I had to press them extra hard to even get a few meals reimbursed, I've had a cashier not understand why I gave an extra penny when paying so I can get one quarter in change instead of a bunch of coins, and I've seen a worker purposefully go slow to hold up a line because she was just in a troll-type mood that day. The food also varies. Some days it looks like it was cooked with more care than others. The half star I wanted to give is just encouragement. I know this location probably sees some weirdos. There's locals who are probably in a hurry or aren't dou-eyed about Santa Monica, there's tourists who have various levels of expectations about food and customer service, and there's the unhoused who come in here who occasionally make the day difficult for the staff. For anyone else reading, you can see from walking by outside whether there's a line in the location. If there's no line, and you're in a hurry, go here.
Friendly staff, pretty empty when I went for dinner at 8 pm on Thursday night, so I was immediately served with no wait. I got a barbacoa bowl to go, and it was pretty tasty and filling. You can ask for a tortilla on the side if you get a bowl, and they’ll warm it up and wrap it in foil for you. The brown rice was a little bit hard and slightly crunchy, so dunno if it was overcooked or had been sitting out too long.
this location always does about 30% less food when you order through the app for pick up… Super annoying and I don’t want to have to wait in line to make sure they do the normal amounts. Management, please fix this ASAP. There are a few of my friends that I’ve said the same thing it’s super annoying.
For a year now as I work close by, consistently the slowest location, worst service of anywhere Ive experienced and if you like steak I hope you dont mind little hard pieces and burnt edges throughout whatever you order. I use to go back over and over thinking it was just an off day, or a couple off days, but clearly nobody from the upper management down cares about anything at this location.
This is by far the slowest Chipotle/fast food restaurant I’ve ever been to. There’s zero management and the online orders take complete priority to the people STANDING IN LINE. Do not come here. Go to the Chipotle on Wilshire that is close by.
The place inside smells like someone just peed. Unfriendly staff, like they don't want to work there. Baby portions and the food looks like it has been there forever and they just heat them on over and over. So disappointed, this is the worst branch I ever been. Better go and try local places around the area.
Enjoying my salad at Chipotle. Love that I can get a filling fresh salad for only 5 points on Weight Watchers and still satisfied. Lettuce, black beans, chicken, corn salsa, salsa, fajita veggies, cheese. Yum as always.
Chipotle is delicious but this is by far the WORST MANAGED in the city. I used to come almost daily because I worked nearby but I decided to drive to Wilshire and 23rd because it’s ran properly. The wait time is typically close to 10 minutes with 3 people ahead of me. Nobody greets you or asks you to wait patiently, you just stand around and wait. Then to make matters worse, they run out of guacamole constantly. I’m standing in line again as I type this. 3 people ahead of me and was just told there’s no white rice after 10 minutes. Shut this place down. There’s absolutely ZERO quality control.
I ordered one burrito and they threatened to charge my for 2 because my burrito was larger than normal They best part is they were out of key ingrediant like corn, sour cream, a fajitas!!! Dont come here unless you order baby portions or be prepared to pay double! I also asked for a side of shreded cheese for my chiwawa because your allowed 2 sides for free and they rudly said no. Now Little Odie does not get cheese.... Been eating Chipotle for 20 years. This place does not run its place like the chain it was founded on.
