I made my appointment for 11:30 for a simple physical. Not only did the doctor take over an hour to see me. He then told me I needed to come in for a second appointment to run my test. Then as I was leaving already running late for work due to how long it took. I made my way trying to find the exit but everyone in the building was too busy conversating with each other to tell me where to go. As I left the building a woman walked out of the exit I took and asked me if I was a patient I responded Yes. She then continue to tell me that this was not an exit. I then told her well I'm leaving anyways. This facility is nice but the staff need to be more attentive and better at time management.

Went in to have my child be seen by Dr.Gate, whom is a traveling psychiatrist at this location. Without disclosing what the visit was in regards to, I deeply feel like there was a lack of empathy of the entire situation. Parents should be able to bring their children in with a concern and be able to have a conversation. Not be spoken at. I understand some people have bad days, which may very well be the case. However, her use of language while explaining what autism looks like and her experiences with it sounded like she was speaking about a disabled dog and not a person. We ended up having a civil conversation after I explained how I felt she was talking at my daughter and I instead of trying to have a conversation. We both agreed there was tension. I may have upset her with my body language, because I was pretty escalated myself. I strongly feel that being a professional should come with more compassion and eloquence. I look forward to a second meeting with Mrs. Gates, in hopes that our next visit being a more clarified and enlightened. Please do not ever let people make you feel like because you do not hold a degree in their field that you do not know what you are talking about. Persevere and proceed to trying to find answers.

Not sure what to expect, I was nervous about liking who I'd be seeing. The receptionist was incredibly helpful, told me about things you normally would have missed and gotten in trouble with insurance for. Not these guys! They were patient and informative, and so were the nurses! Very friendly staff. Once I saw my doc I was a little nervous about his behavior but they knew the right questions to ask, either from experience or intuition. No nonsense! These people are great at what they do and treat you like a person. They got me through the procedures I needed so quickly and efficiently, I was surprised! I have blood work to do next and I'm STILL excited about going back.

TL;DR The therapist told me "it's like in rape, if you can't stop it the best thing you can do is just try to relax and enjoy it" I went to the Mental Health clinic in this building and met with one of their therapists. I was trying to get help in dealing with memories of abuse and inability to build trust in others. I was trying to explain that I'm having a hard time blocking out thoughts when I'm alone and I needed strategies to help me do that so I can focus on my schoolwork and then she said, "it's like in rape, if you can't stop it the best thing you can do is just try to relax and enjoy it." I couldn't even believe what I had just heard. I was so angry, sad, and confused I didn't even know how to react. I have zero reason to believe she isn't a child abuser herself.
