Cold River Campground is fun for the entire family, we offer everything from spacious RV sites to secluded tent sites.

Story

Cold River Campground was previously under the name of Walton's Campground and was purchased by Wayne, Pam and Ryan Michaud on May 1, 2015. We decided to change the name to Cold River Campground because we are very close to the Penobscot River that is Damn Cold (we are told). We were told it was cold by some fisherman that were staying at the campground and had fallen in the river the previous day and the name stuck! Lot's of fun here and lots of interesting people!

We stayed at CRC for the summer season in 2017. We had a beautiful site with grass and trees all around, very private. Our little street was like a friendly neighborhood, everyone knew everybody and you'd always get a wave driving by. The campground was so well kept and they were very accommodating and more helpful than any campground owners we've dealt with. We enjoyed our stay and spent a lot of time traveling throughout the state, it was the perfect location to the woods region and the coast, not to mention being only about 10 minutes from Bangor. We will always remember our summer in Maine and the friends we met, including our chipmunk friends, Steven and Nancy! (they like any bird seed, but especially peanuts) We highly recommend a stay, be sure to book in advance, they fill up fast!

The owners of the Cold River Campground are very serious about making things right with people who stay there. Our first of a two night stay was disrupted by some excessive noise. Upon hearing about it, the owners, in a manner considered ‘above and beyond’, dealt with the issues creating the noise and went out of there way in order to insure our satisfaction. A nice campground in a wooded area with owners who care about their customers’ satisfaction. Bravo!

A good place to stay. Very friendly folks running the camp. The only drawback we had was only 2 50 amp sites.  But it was fall and cool out so we were able to make it work.

Owner very nice and helpfull. Camp site level and graveled. Large size washer and dryer.
Happy with camping here.
