Don't stay there! Very dirty carpet, mold on the ceiling tiles, cockroaches in the bathroom, towels were stained & looked like rags, no smoke detector, smelled bad & the window didn't open. There was even mold in the little refrigerator! Chair was so stained I wouldn't sit on it & the mattress was probably 20 years old. We parked in the back because our room was in the back & we could see there was a tarp on part of the roof of the motel. The front of the motel looks nice, we thought it would be a good place to stay. I need to ask from now on to see the room when I want to stay somewhere!

The office staff was very nice and the outside was kind of cozy looking but this was by far the nastiest, stinkiest motel I have ever been in. Everytime we go to a hotel, motel, or condo we pull the blankets back and look for signs of bed bugs. We also lift the sheets to look at the mattress for any signs of them. We saw no signs of them but we did see that the sheets looked like they hadn't been washed in years! Also, on the sheets, there was even what looked like maybe debris from shoes that could have been tracked in from outside. The bathtub was the worst I have ever seen anywhere in my life. I mean like unimaginable. The kitchen sink had a note on it saying it didn't work do not use. The room looked like it had once been a tiny efficiency apartment. This room looked nearly as bad as like something you would see in a movie filmed in the worse projects area you could imagine. Needless to say, my husband went back into the office to ask for a refund. The lady gave him a full refund and was very nice to him. We got back on the highway and found a nice room for only $8.00 more. I definitely would not recommend this place to anyone.

The new owner is slowly redoing it! The rooms are nice enough, I have stayed in all the big chain motels/hotels, a lot were in worst shape and the service sucked. This place has a great staff. There are No bed bugs. It is a quaint old school motel! Try it out! Can't wait to see it in a year or so!

We stayed here 10/13/17 while on a bicycle trip as this was regrettably the only place to stay nearby without riding down the mountain into Waynesboro. We had stayed here during a 2012 bike trip and though it was a bit marginal then, we decided to give it another try. Unfortunately, it's become even more marginal since and we'll never stay here again (could someone please restore the defunct Inn at Afton?). The room was just somewhat OK and the carpet felt wet in places and there was a tarp covering part of the roof. Maintenance was needed and the WiFi was nearly non-existent which the desk clerk said was "due to the weather"[?] The room wasn't very clean despite last minute efforts from the cleaning lady and "breakfast" consisted of coffee and donuts.

Though I have been to this place very first time and stayed there and I'm pleased comment that I liked Colony Motel due to its scenic beauty around & friendly management providing top class services in a reasonable price.
