-Dr. Tom Armitage DVM
--Co-Cheif of Staff, is a graduate of the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. A native of Ohio, he also attended Miami University of Ohio and Ohio State for his undergraduate education. Dr. Armitage moved to the area upon graduation in 1980 and started his career as an associate in the practice. He finds the problems presented to him every day in veterinary medicine fascinating and challenging, and has a particular interest in surgery. He has served as past president of the Western Maryland Veterinary Association and thru 2011-2012 was the president of the MVMA.
-Dr. Allen Holden DVM
--Co-Chief of Staff, is a Cleveland, Ohio native and also attended The Ohio State University for both undergraduate and veterinary education. After practicing equine medicine in Indiana for a year, he moved to Maryland and joined Country Veterinary Hospital in 1982. Dr. Holden enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, especially helping new pet owners with the challenges of introducing a new puppy, kitten, or rescued adult dog or cat into their household.
-Dr. Mike King DVM
--is our newest addition to the practice, joining in May, 2009. He is a 1990 graduate of the University of Maryland with a B.S. in Accounting. He then attended Purdue University's School for Veterinary Medicine, obtaining his degree in 1997. Originally from Maryland, Dr. King returned to the area and has been a small animal practitioner in Frederick. He comes to us with extensive experience in small animal medicine and surgery.
