This state park is a great location for a quick stop. While driving through, we stopped for our kids to have some time to stretch their legs. They have basic playground equipment our little ones enjoyed (1 and 4 years old). Picnic tables and shelters make picnicking convenient. We also spent a night at the camp ground. Plots are basic, but suitable for tent camping if you choose carefully. Lots of RV camping as well if this is your preference. This is a place we plan to visit again if opportunity permits. Some things to consider... 1. The playground is near the lake. No problem with older, more responsible kids, but can be a challenge with little ones. 2. Canadian Geese take over the place during part of the year leaving their droppings everywhere. This can be a bit annoying especially if you are using the day use area. I did not see this an issue in the campground. 3. All who enter the pool area must pay for swimming regardless of whether they swim or not. 4. If you pay for camping, your cost for swimming is discounted.

This is an amazing state park right off the exit from the interstate. The park is huge and has a ton of walking trails around the lake. The lake has a lot of wildlife to watch. It is very quiet and a great place to spend a day there. There are also recreational areas for sports like Tennis. Very fun to visit.

A very beautiful state park. Easy access in and out. I-75 close by. Home of the annual Louie Bluie arts and craft festival. Hiking and bike trails. 5k runs and an RV park. Large scenic lake area. Picnic grounds. Just a wonderful family area.

Great place to stop for a quick picnic with the kids. Had a bunch of trash in the water, otherwise a nice place.

I've always loved Cove Lake. There is just an openness about it that allows people to be friendly no matter if you're a stranger or not. People say hello when you pass each other on the sidewalk, etc.
