This was nice. We had a group camp site and it was set up well. My only complaints were that we only had one fire pit for the whole group site and there aren't many, if any, hiking trails. The area is beautiful and they have a playground. The river is nice also!

Stopped here on our way home to let the kids get out and play and swim a little. Very nice, family friendly park.

If you enjoy screaming all day long this is your place. Some genius thought... why not make a campground in the woods so people can enjoy the bugs and birds. Then, let's put in a giant public playground for campers ... and every other child camping or not. Loud, loud, loud. All day every day. Playgrounds are great. So are campgrounds. They should mix only in certain circumstances.

We camped here and the riverside location is good for water sports-we were canoeing and kayaking on the Hiwassee. We were able to put in upstream and paddle right down to the campground. The bathhouse was clean, and the playground, though we didn't use it, looked new and there were lots of activities going on every evening for kids. The reason for fewer stars, though, is that it's not very clear that the rules are particularly enforced by the park rangers. Quiet hours are supposed to be 10p-6a, but there were many RV generators running until well after 11, as well as loud talking and cars running. That was actually the most annoying thing to us, because we were in tents and could hear every sound.

Quiet, secluded. Woodsy.
